901 and received / installed the 902 soak test build??? Post here!!!

Thank You FantomPhlasher! I chose to move to .901 when the pushed .893 update made my phone almost unusable (I live in a fringe 4G area) fully expecting to still be able to recieve future updates. I was approved for the soak test but days later still had no update to download! I was dreading having to go through the steps to get back to .893 when I saw your post. Worked perfectly. Thanks again for sharing!!!

Sooooo, Look what I got:

Baseband is updated but the system version is still 901 per the about screen. What do you guys think? Updated or not? I am Eclipse v2.1 RC1 and was going to update that soon, maybe that will fix it :)

I'm on stock rooted .901 (the leak) and it keeps failing, here is what I'm getting.

--Install /sdcard ...
Finding Update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
Installing update...
Verifying current system...
assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/framework/framework-res.apk". "05b9c7dcee7cd83b827b66cca2505cad51eeb66d". "b966a30eb2f839f0110f557d9be8e0dbb8b8326e")
E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip

Installation aborted.

Any ideas guys? I unfroze all of the bloat too.

Have you done any modding at all? That framework-res.apk file contains (I think) all the theme, menus, buttons, and other look-and-feel components. You have to be absolutely back to stock for the official updates to work.

db server jammed

here is a better screen shot :)

Your on eclipse thats why it says 901 rhe basebamd tells the tale. You have the 902 radio
I have tried a 100 times ro dl from mf and db and it keepa failing
I had it once amd moved it to sd ext md5 matched but when i went to stock recovery and tried as update. It failes said signature check failed install aborted. Tryimg to dl again and ut keepa failing. Im guessin that everybody and their grammaw ia tryimg amd ita nlowing up the servers.

I have a quick question.

I flashed the .901 to .902 posted in #38 in stock recovery. I did get an error at the very end and it said installation aborted, BUT when I checked "About Phone" upon rebooting it said I had .902. Someone on Rootzwiki says the baseband for .902 is:

Baseband: CDMA_N_04.07.00R LTEDC_U_07.1F.00

but my baseband shows

My Baseband says : CDMA_N_04.06.00R LTEDC_U_07.1E.00

Did I successfully go to .902? I mean it says .902 but the installation did say aborted at the very end so I am not sure. I forget what the reason for the abort was but it had nothing to do with framework-res. I flashed the zip on .901 stock from a nandroid backup.

Thanks guys!

I would say no. Your radio is on the 901 version. I think you are going to have to use the pathsaver fix at mydroidworld.com to get back on track.

Sweet! I just tried installing it again and it worked perfectly!

I am now on baseband: CDMA_N_04.07.00R LTEDC_U_07.1F.00

If you guys are having similar issues then just give it another shot!

Anyone know how to apply this update for a custom ROM like KIN3TX? I know that I should probably abandon KIN3TX since it's no longer supported, but it works so well that I don't have the heart...

I'm running on the leaked .901 and forever rooted.

During the .902 update, I'm also getting the error:

E:error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip(status 7)

but before that, looks like a checksum error in /system/build.prop

I'm guessing it's because I used ROM Toolbox to tweak the Wifi Scan Interval. Anyone know what the default should be for the WiFi Scan Interval? Or can someone send me a stock (for .901) build.prop file?

Thanks!

I changed the offending value in build.prop using Root Explorer's file editor, re-booted into Recovery, and the .902 install completed without error.

It took about 5 minutes to boot, but now everything appears to be back to normal, just now upgraded.

Woohoo!

To those who are running 2.1 Eclipse on .902:

Did you restore a backup of 2.1 after flashing .902 or did you install a fresh copy of eclipse 2.1 after you flashed .902?

Thanks guys!

After restoring a back up of my orginial .901 (I had changed the battery icon, on the one I was on before) I flashed the zip and it worked perfectly, I didn't even unfreeze any apps and I still have root. Let's see how much of an improvement this is.
