.901 Compatible KIN3XT v1.0 and P3's one click upgrade

The only script I used was in the original op. I did it just today and everything was loading just fine. Right up until the first reboot. Then my phone kept rebooting at the splash screen. All the fastboot stuff said ok. I didn't see room for error either. But obviously something was not right.

I understand your frustration. If I had your phone I could help you further but, I do not. Good luck. Here is a link to the original thread for the one click pathsaver. Please be sure to read it all the way through. http://www.mydroidworld.com/forums/droid-bionic-forum/10577-bionic-path-saver-1-click-method.html

Please keep in mind that these phones are like snowflakes. There are no two the same. If you have errors in the middle of the process but, you see that others are successful in their attempts then please just try again. Sometimes its not user error but rather device error. Unfortunately I cannot fix that.

P.s. the link above is just for reference. If you use the file in the OP of that thread instead of the one I provided then you will have an updated phone but no root. Read the thread through to the end and you will see someone uploaded the files to fix that but you must modify the original .zip yourself. I already modified the one I uploaded in this thread before uploading it.

For those of you that had the same problem as doctordoctor, where you initially got .901 to install, but did not get root access, then all attempts to rerun P3's BPS have failed...here's what we did to get his phone working:

1. Download and extract the BPS fix files into the main folder of P3's Bionic Path Saver, it will replace some files, allow this to happen.

2. If you haven't done so already, uninstall Safestrap/Bootstrap.

3. Boot phone into Safe Mode by holding down both the volume buttons at the same time, after the "Motorola Dual Core" screen disappears and the when the "droid eye" screen appears, keep the buttons pressed until the phone does a quick shake or two, let go of the volume buttons. Once the phone boots, if you see the word "SAFE" in the lower left corner, you are in safe mode.

4. Once booted put the phone into "Charge Only" state with debugging turned on. If the device is not being found, you may need to re-install Moto's USB drivers on your computer.

5. Run P3's Bionic Path Saver. It should push the 2 update zips to phone and stop. Leave the program alone for now, but keep it open.

6. Reboot phone into Fastboot mode using Power button and Volume Down button.

7. With phone still plugged into computer, let P3's program continue by pressing any key...then DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING. The phone will reboot a couple times, this is good!

8. Once you see P3's program automatically close itself, your phone should be showing you the little green droid with the yellow triangle. Press both volume buttons to get the menu to appear.

9. Select "Install from SD Card" > Select the 893 update zip > Select OK

10. Repeat step 9 for the 901 update zip.

11. Unplug phone from USB and reboot.

12. Now that you have root access, install Bionic Safestrap

13. Run Safestrap and install the custom recovery, then Reboot phone and enter Safestrap.

14. Select: Safe Boot Menu > Toggle Safe System > Yes... then wait for the process to complete, go back to main menu in recovery.

15. Select: Install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard > External SD card > KIN3TX_V1.0_FINAL_SIGNED .901 OTA Compatible.zip > Yes

16. Once install is done, reboot the phone.

Congratulations! You should now be rooted, updated to .901, and running Kin3tx!

Let me know if it works for you.

ENJOY!

You need this.

Save to root of your external sd card, boot into stock recovery and flash. The reason you have no data connection is because you did the released script after the pathsaver script. It wipes your data which results in no data connection if you did not finish the entire one click pathsaver script. The pathsaver is also a much better tool to unbrick your phone period. I don't understand why people keep using the released script. If you use the pathsaver DO NOT use the released script. If you use released script before updating to 893 using pathsaver you will lose data connection. Also Once you use pathsaver to update to 893 if you're not rooted the released script won't work anyway. That's why so many lost root with the pathsaver script without the runmebbb.bat fix. It attempted root and forever root after the 893 update and failed. You have redo the pathsaver with runmebbb.bat which roots and. Forever roots while still on 886. The links are in this forum. Sorry I don't have them to post.

Thank you so much bro that worked you saved me a trip to the verizon storedancedroid

Why do you have to boot into safestrap? could you just download bootstrap make a nanoid back of 901 then be on your way to download the Kin3v3r zip.

yes bionic bootstrap works just fine to do all this. seems a jump to safestrap happened and now mention of bootstrap is gone. but it works. and since you can use p3's method ti get back to 5.5.893 all the ota worry is for no reason.

I just wanted to update everyone. I got my phone back working. I had to find a full version of the sbf and use fastboot to flash back. Thank you to those that actually tried to help me. Well off to reroot and flash my backup.

I'm getting stuck in the process when my phone is supposed to be rebooting into recovery after runmebbb.bat is finished. A droid man with a exclamation point in a triangle appears. None of the buttons do anything. I pulled my battery and was able to boot my phone. Is something wrong with my stock recovery? If so how can I fix it?

Thanks in advance for any help and ideas!

I am stuck on the fastboot screen (boot Failed) :frown: ive read through this thread and tried everything here to no avail. any help is appreciated.

btw the screen says:

Invalid CG OTV (CG: system): Invalid SP Data
Invalid CG OTV (CG: webtop): Invalid SP Data
Invalid CG Version (CG: Boot)

edit to say: this happened after p3's one-click script finished and auto-exited. i got the little droid man and the exclamation point, then nothing, i thought it was bricked, so i pulled the battery, now i cant get past the "fast boot (boot failed)" screen

(I now know that you have to press both volume buttons to be able to install the two updates. wish i would have known that then...)

Did P3's script complete?

That's normal. You have hold vol up and vol down at the same time and then you'll be in stock recovery.

Okay, so if I was to follow the OP, which seems pretty straight forward, does it work? Like ive heard that you should forever root after you update the .893, but the OP says just update both .893 and .901 at once. Which should I do?
