ALERT! 2.2 FroYo Circus continues...FRG01B is Official get it here.

Also I am seeing animations working on websites like Smileys and such that I thought were not moving before. Is that just me or did something change?

I'll just idly wonder if they fixed animated gifs (or pngs?), which I've never seen working on my droid. That'd be a nice (albeit not very important) fix. Certainly if you're talking smileys that would be animated gifs.

I checked the adobe flash mobile site and it says I need flash installed but I see the dancing banana and Droid phone just dancing away on my Droid.:icon_ banana:

OK. On my 2.1 phone, the banana does not dance. Apparently they now support animated gifs.

So now we have the compelling reason to upgrade to 2.2: dancing bananas.

What better reason could you possibly have for updating to 2.2? JIT? Flash support (when they get it working)? PFAH!

Dancing bananas for the win!

And you get the red flash on my signature too. :D

I hear some of you saying that Adobe is running slow. Give it some time this OS needs a bit to settle in.

In the Blackberry days it would take 2 or3 days for an update to settle in.

Still worked like crap. ;)

Other things to do: Reboot. Remove task killers and virus protection.

From what I've seen Flash seems to work well on my Droid.

And so, I decree, by the power that I have vested in myself, that version 2.2 of the Android OS shall henceforth be known only as:

Android 2.2: The Dancing Banana release.

You are welcome.

OK, let me ask a question that I did not see. I got the system update popup. I clicked install later. I DO NOT want it. BUt it's sitting up there in my notification bar staring at me. I know it's plotting it's next move, trying to find a way to disperse it's voodoo on my phone.

How do I make it go away for good never to rear it's head again?

If you are rooted and have a custom recovery ie. Sprecovery or clockwork recovery let it install. The recovery will block it and you're done. If no custom recovery you will just be bugged until you submit.

$.02, spend it as you please.

Wait, you mean I have to "restart & install" the SPrecovery program will not allow it to update? Did I read that correctly?

Not sure I understand what you are asking here.

How do you get the pesky update message to go away?

You running SP Recovery? If so just select "install" for the system update. It will give you a message about the phone rebooting with a 10 sec countdown. The phone will reboot and once the phone comes back up, it will go into SP Recovery and do all the things to start installing except.. it won't. It will say something like "Process Blocked". Then select reboot phone and you're done. Update goes away and the phone didn't change.

Ah... very cool! Thank you!

That's the part where" Allow update.zip" is not selected! A built in security to protect rooted phones! Kudos to the author!
