ALERT! 2.2 FroYo Circus continues...FRG01B is Official get it here.

I live in southern illinois and received the update at about 9 am this morning. My wife however has not received the update yet. I have to say 2.2 runs pretty smooth on my phone and my phones is much faster now. I did notice that flash is not enabled with this update. I looked on the market for adobe flash player 10.1 and never found anything. Am i looking in the right place or do i need to go to adobe's website and download it?
You have two choices -- install the Flash 10 Beta .apk available from any number of sources on here or via a Google search, or wait till the 18th when the first final build (hopefully optimized for the Droid 1) will be released to the market.

I'm running the beta. I am assuming (and asking you for knowledge) that I should get the non beta when it's in the market.
For all we know it'll be the exact same thing, but why it would take this long to edit a couple of strings of code to pull the "beta" from them is beyond me. We're hoping it'll be hardware-optimized, but at the very least it should be more-widely supported by the sites we hit.

I'm going to say YES! :)

:) I know I don't say much, usually anything I need to ask has already been asked, so I just search around. Don't know why I got so gutsy today. :)

Rgr that.
I got an upgrade notice while I was in the market browsing around.
Of course I hit INSTALL NOW, and away it went.

Grabbed a pic and then thought wth and made a vid of the rest of the upgrade it went through.
When finished I started checking for Flash and found notices that it will be coming soon. So I guess we are waiting for another update at least for a while.

So far all seems ok except for my HelixLauncher which has a small problem but I suspect reinstalling will fix.

Good luck to all still waiting.
X/BillyD..

Unfortunately a re-install probably will not help. Helix does not seem to play nice with Froyo. I love Helix, but eventually uninstalled it. I also read the dev is no longer working on it so you may want to look into LauncherPro or ADW.

Yep. Been there, done that on my Nexus months ago...LP is awesome, and worth supporting. dancedroid

I never received the 2.1 update so I manually updated it myself. I decided to do the same for 2.2 today, works fine and wondering if someone could direct me to a decent/stable Kernel..looking to Overclock.

I'm also looking for a stable Rom for a first time Rooter, (sp?). That would be east to install. Ive never installed a custom Rom before and used Easy Root to get root today, so looking for something fairly easy.

If this is the wrong forum sorry, after reading several pages of this thread I decided to do it.

This is not a rooted ROM. If you want to root you'll need to root some other way. Easy Root or use RSDLite to flash SPRecovery and go on from there are the two main options.

can you get OTA using wifi?

Yes.
