ALERT! 2.2 FroYo Circus continues...FRG01B is Official get it here.

Okay... downloaded the 78mb 2.2 update (904.....zip), renamed it update.zip, put it in the root of my SD Card (used Astro). When I shut my phone off, and try to power on in recovery mode (holding the 'x' down when powering up), I get a triangle with an exclamation symbol in the middle and a graphic of a droid below it. Can get no further. Any thoughts?

I'm not sure if mine is different because I have the Incredible, but at that point, I had to hit the power button and volume up button simultaneously to bring up the next menu. That gave the option to load from the sd card. Like I said, not positive the Droid is the same but worth a shot.

You have to press volume up and the camera button at the same time, then select apply update.zip.

Worked... thanks for the heads up!

I'm confused. I have an original Droid, and I'm still waiting for the 2.2 update. How many people have received the update so far? How long should I expect to wait? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Jeff

It is a random rollout and will continue for very possibly a couple of weeks. It takes a long time to send to all of the users.

Well I can't tell you an exact number but it is rolling out there are alot of droid's out there so it will take some time ,the latest news we have gotten is that everyone will have 2.2 by the 18th. Your guess is as good as mine if it happens that way. All we can do is wait :icon_eek:

I simply wanted to make sure that I wasn't waiting in vain for something that was never going to happen. This does not seem to be the case, so the wait continues! Thank you very much for your quick and informative replies!
