ALERT! 2.2 FroYo Circus continues...FRG01B is Official get it here.

So who has the droid 1 and put this new 2.2 update on and did not have any problems doing it. I just want a good clarification before I decide to do it.

It works fine.

So does this build have the 7 screens like the D2 ?
Why not ?
Latest build you would think it would have 7 screens . dancedroid
Five screens. If you want more try ADWLauncher. As far as I know it's one of the few replacement launchers that doesn't have an issue with FroYo.

Yes, any file manager. If it allows you browse the contents of your sdcard on your phone, then it should work.
Ok I will get a file manager. THANKS! The second question needs more detail. I understand Titanium needs root to run but after I run the Titanium back up before install of update and for some reason the update wipes out my apps. has Titanium saved everything to the SDcard so I can re-install the lost apps.? I understand the large update file un-roots the phone so I will have to put Easy Root back on the phone and then Titanium...but are the apps still on the SDcard so Titanium can re-install?
They'll still be there. You'll just need to root again to restore them.

You're doing well, as are many many who have read this thread and also gone through the process. And you're going to find it gets better and better. The configuration possiblities of a rooted droid are truely amazing, no less than those possiblities on a fully blown Ubuntu PC, and, as you have pointed out, you can also talk to people with it.

Without using Skype. Of course, that's an option too. :)

Much thanks for assistance needs to go to the admins, moderators and to furbearingmammal who has been going to amazingly great lengths to help out here.

Many thanks to them as well, whoever they are.

The rest of your post stands by itself and I'm going to go ahead and not quote it here, but your honesty and support is appreciated by at least one weary forum monkey. Unfortunately the stress of answering the same question so often you see the letters every time you close your eyes sometimes means a valid point voiced by someone else comes across as combative, or insulting, when it's meant to be something else entirely, and someone takes it the wrong way. I'm far from innocent of this and, as an earlier post (thankfully now deleted) would have proved, the end result is a regrettable comment thrown in anger. Now that the OTA is back on and people can and are getting their updates directly from Verizon or the Google servers, this thread has lost some of its importance, especially since what appears to be rolling out is the original update.zip posted in the other thread -- but that doesn't mean this file isn't still useful to many people. Hopefully for them all this will have been worth it.

Anyone want to chip in for my Rogaine treatments?

Anyone? ;)

Verizon, Moto and Google should look down from their lofty posts and thank these guys and others who helped define this build, for helping to keep Froyo in a good light when they've been having trouble keeping the OTA straight.

I will gladly accept cash, checks, Paypal and credit cards. Automobiles, if I get to chose them, work well also. :D

I am thoroughly enjoying being involved with this and everyone here. I really can't thank the staff enough for allowing me the opportunity to come over here to help along with my time on the Incredible Forum. I am honestly learning as much here as I am trying to help others. I will be the first to admit I don't know everything and love picking up new information. There has been an absolute wealth of it to play with between these two sites.

OK...so I woke up this morning, drank a double shot of espresso, and loaded 2.2 full onto my SD card. Held my breath, pressed the required buttons, and the installation went smoothly. :icon_ banana: So far everything is working well, including K9 e-mail and slingshot. Still at home, so haven't checked out 3G speed yet.

But the purpose of this post is to really thank the folk in this forum (especially FBM) for their help and patience.

Has anyone had problems with LauncherPro and 2.2? I was going to get the paid version after I get the 2.2 OTA.

Ditto. Then crossed over to the dark side and purchased EasyRoot and SetCPU and am now running at 800mHz since 2.2 allows it (still have not ventured into the ROM/kernel area).

I'm using the same setup as you; no new kernels, etc. SetCPU works, but it won't start on boot. Did you have this problem? Otherwise, it works great.

I checked the box for it to start on root and now it does. I did do a battery pull after rooting and installing it (I do it after every big change I make). You may want to try that. Good Luck!

Thanks; I tried the battery pull a couple of times, but no luck. But at least it's not like I reboot several times a day.

I think one of the Mods said there was no problem, and that the paid version was a great way to support an excellent app.

Funny, I can remember what the post said, but not the name.

So many names... :)

Did you click the Problems button to download the latest version of BusyBox? That is the last thing I can think of.

Also make sure you click Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB Debugging

Tried both, but no luck. Not sure where the "Problems" button is, but the BusyBox installer got me the latest version (1.18.0). So far, this is the only glitch I've run into since moving to 2.2, and it may not even be due to that.

So When are they sending 2.2 actually. I still have 2.1 and its 8/13. Checked my phone and it says my phone is up to date.

It is still being rolled out. Estimates say it will be done by the 18th of this month. There are a lot of Droids out there that updates are being pushed to. If you don't want to wait for Froyo, you can do a manual update with the update file posted in the other thread I believe.
