ALERT! 2.2 FroYo Circus continues...FRG01B is Official get it here.

I'm hopefully getting my new Droid today, and if I do, I have to go to the Verizon store to activate it and get my contacts switched over.
While there, I'm going to ask them about switching me to Froyo (the website states they can do Software Upgrading, so I hope they can do this).

I will keep everyone updated on this, because if they can, hopefully I can help those out who have a store nearby that can do the same :)

Everybody posts they got Froyo or they didn't with a city or geographic region. Does that have any bearing? I would assume that VZW would not issue updates by a region, that would probably tie up all of the band width in the region.

I would be very surprised if they would sell you a Droid that didn't have 2.2 already installed. I went to the Verizon store yesterday (cuz I'm weird that way) and every Droid I on display had 2.2 running.

It's totally random so no bearing at all; I thought it was just interesting to see how it was rolling out.

Got mine at 2:30 am PST before I left for work.
Task Killer no longer kills apps like it is suppose to.
I kill the browser, and when I open it up later, it is still on the last page I left off at.
Same with killing email too.

I'm rooted BB V0.4, and getting the 2.2 update OTA notification. I thought this was disabled, but apparently not. I guess my question is if there will be any adverse affects of allowing the update? I'm pretty sure I'll lose root if I do this, which is okay with me for the time being.

Updated my rooted Droid and everything worked fine except Adfree. It is stuck on "Starting download". I cancel and then it FCs. When I go back to downloads it's "Starting download" again. Any ideas how to get rid of it? Love the site and all the knowledge.

pete posted a fix for this. check the bb threads.

What if you still not have gotten the OTA update? I do not want to root my phone as I do not feel comfortable in doing so. My wife got her's Saturday and I am still waiting? Did they extend the roll out?
