ALERT! 2.2 FroYo Circus continues...FRG01B is Official get it here.

Got mine at 2:30 am PST before I left for work.
Task Killer no longer kills apps like it is suppose to.
I kill the browser, and when I open it up later, it is still on the last page I left off at.
Same with killing email too.
Ditch the task killer, it'll drain your battery and cause performance issues. FroYo has a built-in task killer and the two will battle.

What if you still not have gotten the OTA update? I do not want to root my phone as I do not feel comfortable in doing so. My wife got her's Saturday and I am still waiting? Did they extend the roll out?
You have two choices:

Hold your breath and wait. If you chose this, I want pictures of every different shade of blue you turn for a flier I'm working on. :)

Install the update manually. This in no way voids your warranty, roots your phone, causes boils, famine, war, or premature baldness.

Good luck! :)

You will get it eventually if you wait. The system was trying to push an update to my phone at about 4:15 a.m. this morning after I thought I bricked my phone mucking around with different ROMS and was panicking getting a backup re-installed LOLOL:icon_eek: You don't have to be rooted to manually update with the file on this thread. It will just install like you were installing a piece of software on a PC. After all...a Droid is just a computer that allows you to talk on it. It is what you do after the update that makes it YOUR OWN DROID. If you have a chance to talk with "furbearingmammal" he is a very knowledgeable individual on this stuff. I just know enough about computers to be dangerous to myself LOL

Thank you Furbearingmammals and Osprey. If I do not get the OTA by the time I get home I will try installing the build on this thread (wish me luck lol) Thank you again!

I just received my update about an hour ago, so they do send them out during the day. :) I always wondered if it was only a middle of the night thing.

All went well. :)

New Update has issue with Media Dock Also screen issues

Just did the update this morning and I'm regretting it. Media dock, the clock switches after a few minutes to a cheesy looking soft green colored clock. I purchased the dock, for the large clock function. No user settings for the dock at this time. While playing music through the dock, I've had the screen go off, and the only way to get it too come back on is with the power switch. I'm testing this again, it did it again, while playing a 2nd song. It dimmed, then the screen went off. No touch access to the screen while in the Dock.

The phones screen is extremely sensitive, on how you hold it. The image can go upside down, when you don't want it.

I called Verizon, and only Motorola, can change the programing. I'm very frustrated with Verizon, that they didn't test these features prior to allowing a release. The transfered me to Motorola, and its a 45 to 1 hr wait, or they offered to call me back Friday morning. You also get to talk to India. When I stated I would wait the 45 min. They picked up my call twice to see if I'd rather have them call me back Friday. Then after 15 min. my call was dropped.

The vol. control works while the screen is off. but you can't pause the music. If I wanted to see what is playing I can't any longer. Which means I might as well just bring in my Ipod to work.

Also in the download, you will aquire some photos in your gallery that weren't there prior. Its hard to say what else that put on your memory. I've already had to have Verizon set this back to factory once, since the blue tooth went out, along with the battery within the first year. So if you haven't done the update, I would suggest you don't.

I guess when I leave the browser, I can just go to the Window page and close out the one I am on, and it will reopen the Google search page for me.

It's a mandatory update. If you don't want the update, then root.

For all the things it brings with the it 2.2 is the best update to hit the Droid yet. But you can always count on someone out there to find things to complain about.

Don't believe everything you read when it comes to negative comments about 2.2. It is a wonderful update.

Go to the market and download Bedside. It will keep the clock on and let music play in the background.

Or just use the back button till it goes back to the home screen. Yeah, you can still hit forward from the options, but unless you're doing something you don't want people to see if they get ahold of your Droid, what's the big deal? :)

Well it's NOT that good, it completely DESTROYED AND UNLOADED the calendar !!!
Screw Verizon!!

I'm hopefully getting my new Droid today, and if I do, I have to go to the Verizon store to activate it and get my contacts switched over.
While there, I'm going to ask them about switching me to Froyo (the website states they can do Software Upgrading, so I hope they can do this).

I will keep everyone updated on this, because if they can, hopefully I can help those out who have a store nearby that can do the same :)

UPDATE: So I received my phone today and got it all set up at the store... the wonderful man helping me said that they themselves cannot put Froyo on the phones, they can try and force it, but that's all. Unfortunately, he couldn't force it on mine, but he said to keep an eye out for the next couple of days.

ALSO, he said that newer Droids will eventually ship out with 2.2 on them instead of 2.1... I believe it'll be once all the updates are completed.

Verizon had nothing to do with this, if you want to get mad at somebody get mat at Motorola and Google.

They merged the corporate calendar with the regular calendar. Apparently more people thought that was a good idea. Obviously you do not.
