ALERT! 2.2 FroYo Circus continues...FRG01B is Official get it here.

tried that didnt work. got a failed to verify whole-file signature, signature verification failed, installation aborted. would i have to go back to 2.01 then do this?

Right, that's why I asked if you were rooted. It won't work unless you're rooted. I'm afraid you're going to have to go back to 2.0.1. I just checked with the Rescue Squad and that's what they are recommending.

But keep that link in mind. Once you're rooted you can have a signed copy of 2.2 installed on your Droid.

The Universal AndRoot app (universalandroot ????) should also be able to reroot 2.2.

Yeah, well the piece of CRAP software also unloaded the Camera.....
No Calendar..
No Camera...
What the hell am I going to find missing next??????

SCREW VERIZON, GOOGLE, AND MOTOROLA

If you were using the Corporate Calendar app, all that data should now be visible in the normal Calendar app. Is your problem with the camera simply that the old icon you had on your home screen broken? If you go into the app drawer is there really no Camera application there? What happens if you long press on the physical camera button on the side of the phone?

J While playing music through the dock, I've had the screen go off, and the only way to get it too come back on is with the power switch. I'm testing this again, it did it again, while playing a 2nd song. It dimmed, then the screen went off. No touch access to the screen while in the Dock.

Settings - Applications - Development

Check the "Stay awake". Your screen will not turn off again while it's charging on it's dock.

Wife called me from ome today,, said her Droid had an update,, and it was dead after the update. She just called from the VZ store,, they said Droid went bye bye. They said it was the 2.2 update that killed it. Glad mine is rooted.

When I go into the Manage Application area, select ALL, when I get the Calenda App, it shows 0.00kb file size. There are several programs that also indicate 0.00kb file size, Cal Sync Adapter, CarHome Certificate Insaller, com.android.providers.app, com.android.providers.user, com.google.onetime.android.onetime, Contacts Sync Adapter, Email Policy, HTML Viewer, Market Updater, Media Container Service, Package Installer Pico TTS, Programming Menu, Voice Dialer, VPN Swevices all have 0.00kb fie size...that indicates to me they are gone.... The Camera App is only 4 kb, however if I hold the camera button down the camera will activate, but software activation is gone. Also found out Droid is not linked to car anymore.....

Good Update.............NOT!!

Hmm just saw your post so I decided to look at mine same update everything you listed here is the same on my droid and it runs fine. I think your reading to much into all that I'm not sure myself what it mean's but it hasn't seemed to affect anything adversely. Also as it has already been stated the corporate calender is now all in the regular calender, did you have a shortcut for the camera on the home screen? If so remove it and replace it then it will work. You can always re-sync with your car dancedroid Anyway's hope that help's hopefully you can enjoy your droid again :)

Oh yeah... or when you've installed an update to one of those apps from the market (as commonly happens with stuff like Google Maps).

USB tethering is included in the Droid-flavor of FroYo as long as you are willing to pay Verizon a monthly fee. WiFi tethering is not and all signs say it will not be included. To WiFi tether you must root.

To USB tether and not have to pay Verizon per month you will either have to root, when it's free, or use an app from the Market such as Easy Tether or PDANet. If you are techy or on a very strict budget, Proxoid works but requires a lot of setup. These apps all require drivers and a small application running on whatever computer you're tethering, and these will be provided by the company/developer who created the app.

Damn man no need to yell I was taking a nap j/k :icon_eek:

Wireless tether FREE from market (must be rooted). Two simple apps that will get you going EasyRoot I think it is .99 cents form market. Gravy to operate root and un-root Droid at will in a few seconds. Next setCPU (must be rooted) I think it might be a couple of bucks from market. Without changing anything else but installing those two apps you can bring your CPU up to 800 Mhz in just a few minutes of your time BOOM BABY! done deal. Once you root the options are darn near endless. Of course make sure you study and READ LOTS of material before venturing past this point. That would be the least you can do for pennies.

I wasn't yelling, I was waving a big %$#&ing flag to make sure I got people's attention since it's been so hard to get in the past over the subject. :)

I figured since a lot of people skim these threads that the bigger text would catch their eye and might answer a couple of questions I saw a few pages back. It's one of the biggest questions asked, I've seen, since Google made such a big deal about including tethering in FroYo before the carriers cried foul and castrated it.

So I heard that someone contacted Verizon and that the roll out has be halted. Dunno if its true. I hope not. I want mah Froyo also.
