Android 2.1 Update Rolls Out For Motorola Droid!

Sporadic Email Notifications with 2.1?

I use two email accounts on my Droid (not including my Gmail account). Since the 2.1 update, I have noticed that I get my email AUDIBLE alert, but when I select my "Email" icon, and it brings me to my list of 2 accounts, it is not showing me the quantity of emails next to the corresponding account.

This is happening more times than not, and it is starting to irritate me. I need to check both accounts to make sure I am not missing anything.

Also, I have noticed A LOT more ghost notifications with both of those email accounts.

Is anyone out there having the same issue?

I did it and it was a snap. Runs great, have helix launcher with 5 screens and scrolling from from screen to screen is very smooth most of the time ( occasional hiccup). Battery life has been extended. Used GPS nav twice today as well as heavy internet use and am at 60% battery after 6 hours. :biggrin:

My wife did the ota update last nite. She just got her phone last month. She has a non rooted droid. She also had Launcher 2 installed. Launcher 2 caused a problem and kept force closing. Had to take the phone to the verizon store to do a factory reset. All is good now. Just a word to the wise: If you have a non rooted droid with launcher 2 installed, you might want to uninstall it before upgrade. Side note: I got my droid 12/30/09 and still no update yet.

Now that i got the update, i noticed that i have the option of uninstalling the new gallery and somethin latin language input...is that normal ???? I dont get why there sowing up if its part of the new OS...ALSO im not relly liking the neural adroid live wallpaer its to plain in color...is there a way to get he nexus one that has like four colors insttead of read and black

There's one in the market called NexusMod Live Wallpaper, you might like that better. They didn't include that one because that was part of the N1's color scheme whereas the Droid's is grey/black/red.

I did the manual update and I still have my Superuser permission Icon. I thought 2.1 was suppose to delete this.

Got my update!

Didn't get it at 12:59, but when i woke up this morning and installed and it's running great. There's one live wallpaper which has a mock up of red LED lights moving in a Matrix-like way, but sideways too. I've also noticed battery life is great. I had a problem opening the gallery app but after deleting and reinstalling the icon everything is running great.

Also had some issues with helix. I did the factory reset beacause helix kept force closing.

I just checked and the update's available on my phone. Although after looking at this post I don't think I'm going to install it (at least not permanently) since there's no mention of flash or live wallpapers.

Wow...seriously? It makes improvements to the phone. Why would you not update it? To show your protest because it does not have Flash? :icon_ nono2:

BTW: it does have live wallpapers.

wtf...why does everybody think that flash is on 2.1...if it was on there the nexus woould of had it already
