Android 2.1 Update Rolls Out For Motorola Droid!

2.1 update.zip working a-ok over here:icon_ banana:

3 screens is a disappointment, but helix will take care of that. Browser seems faster. Live wallpapers are fun. Personally, I'm liking it so far

Update-1 might have been a quick update just to stop all the complaining from people on where the update was. Following updates might fix the multiple home screens and other add-on that aren't in this update. The phone still might have issues with those applications and further updates will be needed to correct and fix them. Just a guess.

Does this mean if I had waited for the OTA update, I still would have only had 3 pages? I've read the forced update I applied is identical to the OTA update going out, just trying to make sure this is the case...

^^ should be no difference...

Congrats to all of you who held out hope, and knew this day would come. :)

Enjoy your multitouch and LWP's guys!!! :-P

(Any chance of someone posting temps from BatteryLife app after running this for a bit?) :)

Frack!

I couldn't wait, and although backed up, I decided to just apply the update.zip

Besides, that is what is going to happen withthe OTA anyway, and I'll likely be rroting when it's cracked and go to Cyanogen ...

Eye animation seems faster ...

Wow ...

All's good!

BTW, helix is awesome with LW, no issues, still get a few FC's, nothing major.

Might try the helix 3d drawer, but who knows!

It's finally nice to use a phone that has come into the 21st century. The Droid is everything I could have hoped for and more. Not that I don't think the iPhone isn't a really nice phone, but it's on the wrong network. Other than the "Backup" sync not working, I figured the contact issue out with Goggle. Glad to join the group!
