Android 2.1 Update Rolls Out For Motorola Droid!

I have a quick question - every time someone quotes a time that are adamant that it is EST - Eastern Standard Time. Does anyone realize that all the published times are actually in EDT - Eastern Daylight Time??? EST is actually an hour earlier than EDT!

EDT is just a version of Daylight Savings Time. Most East Coast states switch to this in the summer just as us West Coast states switch to Daylight Savings Time in the summer. Either way regardless of what its called , the update gets pushed at 8:59pm Pacific time, Mountain time gets pushed at 9:59pm, Central time gets pushed at 10:59 pm and Eastern time gets pushed at 11:59pm. So does this Wording work better for you?

i havent noticed a big change. if you wanna boost your battery more download juice defender. its a beast

and guys i know this is offtopic but try out opera mini beta. its in market. its 2x faster than anything else. no multitouch tho

OK. I know this is only me telling you guys what a verizon rep said.....well....this rep happened to be David Sheffield the head of the support team in the tech support division in Washington D.C. 1000 have rolled out and have been successful with few very minor glitches. 9000 are heading out by midnight tonight. Should only be 4 days do update the over 2 million droids that are out at this point. I was also told the rollout is indeed random but "normally" it is justified by the date of phone purchase. So the ones with early models should see it first. I didn't receive mine until November of 09 so i will be near the end i suppose.

i did the force update, everything works as described. you cant pinch/zoom on the mobile websites though. i wish you can change the setting like in dolphin to go to main sites not mobile. other than that it seems good. first restart was laggy in the droid eye screen, but i restarted it after that and its fine.

one other request if you guys may, where can one find more live wallpaper options?

I still haven't received my update. How do you force an update?

Well, you can, sort of. You have to be rooted already, and install it from 2.0.1 using an unsigned zip.

Someone posted a way to do this on the 2.0.1 stock browser. Don't know if it will still work with 2.1. In browser address line type about:debug and hit enter. Nothing happens, but when you go to setting in the browser, some new options are there. Go to UAString and select Desktop.

Let me know if it still works.
