Another Bionic that can't get a data connection... no 4G/3G/1X signal.. only wifi...

I got my phone 2 weeks ago and have had this problem recently myself. This first time I had to pull the batery and since then I can just turn the phone off and on to fix it. I am almost always hooked up to a wifi so i rarely know when I lose data. (I'm also in VA)

I vote to call verizon to complain and demand they give us all a credit. They should pay us back or at the very least, not charge us for data when we aren't receiving data.

I'm reading the new version of Android OS, Ice Cream Sandwich, is due out tomorrow. I hear it is going to be a huge overhaul. Maybe this will fix it?

It will be a cold day in hell before the Bionic gets Ice cream sandwich. First they gotta get Ginger bread wright and fix the fricken phone. Ginger bread is probably good but the phone aint

I had to create an account just to respond there was no "nation wide outage" where do people come up with crap like that... funny stuff.

Let's reverse the question ..

I guess I better join the club. I too, think Verizon owes us a refund for the "unavailable" data.
I will call them today to make it known.

I called and complained that I was paying for a service I wasn't getting and they gave me a $20 credit.

Good idea Ill try that caiied them yesterday and said there was no service and they dummied up said there was no notice told it was a onown thing but I didnt push it Ibwill today though. Thanks

Ok, my cradlepoint with a Lg lte usb modem has been connected for 10 days and counting, it is locked on lte and shows no dropped connections.
I think Washington DC is part of the "nation wide" area?
Also i have a pantech lte modem I use for my laptop on the go. Never had any disruption with that.

These so called vzw-insiders are not correct at all. And if they are insiders giving out info they need to be fired both from vzw and the bs blogs they write on.

And yeah I am having the same issues with my bionic. Thanks too all for your post on the issues, most all have been helpful.

This is a great forum!

Then tell the devil to get out his jacket! :p The Bionic will get it... it might not be soon, but it'll get it.

I'm in upstate NY, no data connection whatsoever, first couple weeks I had the phone were great, last week or so data connection has been lost completely, won't even come back if I toggle airplane mode or reboot phone. Comes back randomly. Quite aggravating.

Here in Charlotte, NC no 4G for the past 3 days or so. It is however now switching between wifi and 3G with no issues no matter if I have it on CDMA Only or CDMA/LTE. I do believe when they get whatever bugs ironed out with the network, firmware for the bionic pushed and ICS out, we'll all have perfected telepathy and will no longer need phones.

Didn't Verizon say something last year, or earlier this year, about having all 3G-only phones phased out by 2013, or something along those lines?

Their 3G network is so rock solid... their 4G network is not. I know that's up to two years away, and obviously LTE is still in its infancy, but still... that thought worries me a bit.

NYC doesn't even have its 4G back yet, its been three days. surprising its been so long now, its been pretty solid here since i got my Bionic

FWIW, the 4gLTE network should eventually be as reliable as the 3g. They found a way to quickly upgrade every 3g tower to 4gLTE, according to a CS rep I spoke to. Now it's just getting all the towers/phones to play nice together.
