Battery drains fast!

I've been stuck in my house the past 2 days, and I've noticed a massive difference in battery drainage. 4G coverage is a bit spotty at my place, so I've just been keeping Wifi on all the time. After 7 hours of being unplugged, I'm still at 75% battery. Granted, I'm using it much less than I would in a normal day. The screen has only been on for a total of 45 minutes, and I've kept to only texts, emails, light browsing, and about 10-15 minutes of GTA III. Even then, I didn't expect to have this much battery still remaining. Yesterday was a similar story, I think I was around 60% remaining after about 12 hours and a similar usage pattern.

I didn't realize how big a drain the LTE radio is. I haven't really had a chance to figure out what my "normal" usage is, but I know that in the first few days that I had my phone I was down to about 30% after about 8 hours. Part of that may be because I was using it so much since it was brand new, but even then, I didn't expect such a massive stretch in battery life by sticking to Wifi. I ordered an extended battery from Verizon, but they sent me an email saying it was backordered and would be delayed. Hopefully I can figure out how to further extend my battery life in the meantime. I'm unlocked and rooted, but other than that, I'm not doing anything special to preserve battery right now.

Every screenshot of battery usage is from the screen by a long shot. so obviously to save power would be to have screen on auto brightness or on low.

other words no one will read this, but I still gets my post count up by one. :happy3:

You mean like this?View attachment 44470View attachment 44471View attachment 44472View attachment 44473View attachment 44474Only way i can make the screen draw less power is by turning the brightness aaaall the way down....or turning off the screen...and it still eats up 60% >.<...granted i used it alot during those 7h...50% of the time maybe? And yea i have all the black background just to bring it down as much as i can. I mainly used it for texting and doing some browsing. Nothing more...I check my mail everyday for that extended battery..

This is NOT the LTE by the way. With stock Android 4.0.1

I'm down to 79% after 4 hrs of barely using the phone. 47% is the os. Next biggest consumer is the screen, waaaay behind at 17%.

Boo.

I'm running GummyNex 0.2.6 with Matrix 1.5 kernel and its undervolted to 300mHz less. As well as overclocking. I will post my battery findings tomorrow when I run a full day on it. Yes this rom has android 4.0.3. Stock battery by the way.

Wow.. an untouched phone getting good life...no surprise. My d1 did that when it was not in use too. Turn it on and use it...different story. Besides let me see the battery swapped on that one

Battery Life

Alright, so I found a combo that works VERY well. Took my phone off the charger at 8:00PM EST, light usage until about 12:00AM, and then I let my phone sit overnight to monitor the Android OS %. I like the results!!Using Android 4.0.3 Bugless Beast (Pete Alfonso): http://www.droidforums.net/forum/bu...4-0-3-available-rom-manager-any-info.htmlWith a custom kernel: [Kernel]AOSP LTE[3.0.13]UV/GPU+CPU OC/CIFS/SLQB/OTG(v0.0.4)[Dec-17] - RootzWiki use JuiceDefender to shut off data when screen is off, as well as SetCPU to underclock the CPU to 700/350 when screen is off. Incredible battery life

I think using the phone puts less of a dent in battery life. If its idle, I'm convinced its using more.

I've noticed this as well. When I'm on my last 20% using the phone nonstop, it seems to last a LONG time. Very strange
