Battery drains fast!

Pretty decent day for me. GummyNex and Matrix 1.5 kernel clocked to 1.2 and undervolted (still trying to find my lowest values).

I'm pretty happy with the battery life on this, for a dual core 4.65 inch screen I was expecting to drain a lot faster. On stock ROM made a few phone calls, listen to Pandora on my way to work, did some browsing while waiting for my food, took a short video and some pictures thus the charging spike while transferring them to my laptop. Overall I'm happy.

Do we agree that Anandtech is more accurate than other tech sites? If we agree on that....according to Anandtech's Bench tool...the Verizon G Nex battery life isnt as good as some other current phones, including the GSM G Nex. One could say, well yea....its isnt LTE. Well the biggest difference is talk time. The talk time of the Verizon G Nex is low, surprisingly low compared to other current phones.

They didn't review it yet, but included it on their Bench tool. So depending on what you do with this phone....battery life could be alot worse than other phones. Thats out the box. Custom kernels and extended batteries might be its saving grace for some ppl.

I noticed this today. My battery was doing great until i got on a long call. I was losing over 15% an hour with data and screen off. Im still completely stock.

I was pretty appalled at the battery drain. I bought the extended battery for $25 when I got the phone. I read on here a couple tips that appear to b helping. 1) I turned off NFC and 2) I turned off Facebook notifications.

I've been conditioning the battery for the past couple days. So far I've had the phone on for 5hrs 23min and I'm at 57%. I played some games, surfed a bit, and been reading posts here. Its early but this feels more in line with what I saw with my X2's battery life.

Did one more test and put my phone in 3g only mode before i went to bed and there is a pretty huge difference. Normally I lose about 15-18% on 4g but with 3g only 9%...wow. gonna start doing this every night.

Um... don't you guys just plug your phone in when you go to bed? ;) When I'm in bed, my phone is charging!

Normally yes. But was testing it out to see if there was any difference and there you see it:) just in case I have those nights where I forget to charge it before I go to bed.

I have a friend that has one. He said it's the 4G antenna that's draining the battery. He keeps his 4G turned off unless he's in a 4G area.
Seems like it. And whatever notifications I'm getting doesn't help either (got email, text, facebook, and app updates), but with 3g takes much less of a toll on the battery.

I keep my phone on 3g when i'm not downloading things, and use wifi at home. This seems to help keep my battery going longer.

I also turned off NFC too. 4g speeds are nice, but having the phone available longer is worth the minor hassle of switching around between 3g and 4g.

Here's what happens when you have the screen on the whole time with 4g on and searching. While listening or music on YouTube! :) Long car ride experiment! :P

Mine would drain faster I use Google music lol. 4g absolutely kills the battery. Had a total of maybe 15min use with Google music and some browsing when I stopped by for gas and my battery dropped 11%. I'll take the bad battery life for speed anytime though :hail:
