Bionic crawls out of the grave!!!

No way bionic is launching in may

Are you saying "No way, Bionic is launching in May!"
or
"There is no way Bionic is launching in May."

Um it isnt coming in may..............

Read between the lines on the press release and see if you can find the truth about it,,,,,,,

No I got it, I was just giving you a hard time :-)

Oh- you're not the person I quoted. I was giving him a hard time.

Miami, now that it seems the Targa is going to be the new Bionic, is there any more word on whether it might still be a vanilla android/pure Google device??

Depending on when the iP5 is released, I'm betting on an Aug or Sept release....

As far as I know it is pure Google still. I have some concerns about it staying that way though since the device that is "delayed" had blur on it.

I personally hope MOTO doesn't mess this one up. Giving the people what they want will go far for sure.

That would make this phone pure awesomeness if it was vanilla!!

Wait, what phone are you guys talking about being a pure Google device? As far as I know, the Bionic has never been rumored to be a stock device, and I don't recall anything ever being said about the Targa.

Guess you must have missed the talk about the Targa being a Google experience device. I'm not sure how you missed it though. That's the main good point about it. Google experience and unlocked bootloader.

i definatley heard about the google experience but i never heard it would be an unlocked bootloader. if thats true , i had also heard a rumor that the unlocked bootloader phoens would only be sold off contract so that could be expensive. but as we all know, noone knows until the device is out who would of thought a phone with a year old processor would be 300 on contract.

Really? I haven't heard anything about it being only off contract. I know Sony is doing that with their phones but I doubt that Verizon would have a phone you could only get off contract. Like you said though, never know until it's released. Whoever priced the Charge was on drugs lol. At this rate the dual core phones will be 400 on contract.

No problem. I really hope that they don't change it just because the Etna was scheduled to have Blur. That would suck.

So with bionic being pushed back to late summer are we gonna see any 4g dual core devices for vzw within the next month or so?

really not looking forward to settling for the TB just to have dual core come out a few months later.

Not 4g phones. The only 4g dual core was the Bionic. It's probably going to be a while before we get some dual core phones.

i dont claim to be in the know. but i can give you the same cryptic info as if i do.

There is currently nothing for verizon announced or rumored that will be dual core and 4g except for the bionic and galaxy s-2, and we all know whats going on there. If you dont understand that motorola is trying to keep their stocks up. the bionic that was scheduled for launch is cancelled. that phone will never come out. they will either release a mid tier phone they have in the back ground or the targa as most think. this most likely will not happen before sept.(cant wait to hear im wrong because it was released on august 28th) :) there are some good non 4g phones with dual cores coming from motorola being released this summer but other than the bionic nothing announced or rumored. and the rumors are usually 1-2 months ahead of the announcements.
the galaxy s-2 will most likley come to verizon as the galaxy 1 went out to all the carriers but the galaxy x 4g did not so there is no definate that the galaxy s-2 is going to come to verizon. its all speculation since the galaxy did. and i also believe it will but your looking october-nov before you see it on verizon. and thats it for announced or rumored phones with dual core and 4g on verizon. So if you must stay with verizon and want 4g the thunderbolt is the best thing out now. the charge has an old single core processor so its not even a consideration. it appears verizon put all their marbles for quarter 2 on the bionic for 4g dual core.

Verizon would not make good rom or theme users since they apparently never heard the word BackUp.

Dang thats what i figured but was hoping i just was overlooking something. thanks for the replies jay and eagle.

i guess i will lock in the bolt at unlimited and use it for 2 years. it really doesnt look bad just some people complaining about battery had me a little worried.

at this rate with rumored quad core in 2012 i will always be one step behind. lol

will hope that the bolt will be good enough for 2 years.

I think you should wait if you can. You are going to do q 2 year contract with the TB. The Battery issue is a serious issue. If you do live in a 4G area be prepared for battery drainage. If you purchased a phone it should last I should not have to buy a bigger battery or download software to switch off 4G. If I purchase something I would like the fullness of the product... I would listen to this podcast when they talk about the Bionic and they talk about the Battery life of the TB...

Go to this time in the Pod cast to hear what they had to say: 01:25:45 - Motorola delays Droid Bionic launch until summer to make 'several enhancements'
