Bionic crawls out of the grave!!!

i would guess august or sept. august seems to traditionally be a big month for Moto releases. but, rumor is that the iP5 won't be out until Sept, and i'm betting that Moto is targeting the Targa/Bionic to be the competitor to that phone. so, Sept wouldn't surprise me, either.

My guess would be August. Going directly against the iPhone isn't that great of an idea. That way you get the people who may have been holding out for September but just couldn't make it.

Yep, iPhone coming out in September would not make a good date for Bionic. That is if it in fact really does come out.

Now I haven't heard anything differently but I will say that maybe Motorola put that information out there to keep stocks from sliding. I said this earlier in the thread but nobody paid attention so I'll say it again.

I do think that the Bionic you see in the Summer is not the same one they had in mind previously. So let's say it's the real deal, I'm going to guess early July. Why? Because Verizon wants to get their 4G network moving and just having the TBolt out won't do that. But we will see.

From what I am hearing is that the iphone 5 is just coming out for AT&T this Summer and Verizon will get it around the 4Th Q or 1stQ of next year. So I do not think we have anything to worry about...

If nothing else, devs will have time to start to develop apps that utilize multi core.. isnt the x2 dropping soon with two cores? Why so pessimistic?

Not being pessimistic, I was more curious to see what it can do. Personally, I want to get this, a webtop dock and replace one of my laptops.

Geared towards strangers comment, im not sure youll notic differences with existing apps, but the increased cpu power will foster better games and beefy productivity apps

Keep in mind that developers will not go heavily into development of dual core apps until there is enough hardware out there to make it profitable.

Just like when the PC went going dual core or when 64 bit was coming out.

Right on!

This is going to be a Hackers dream phone. Developers are going to have a field day finding all the limitations/potential of dual core not to mention applications that can come from these hardware modifications. It should be the ideal phone for those looking towards the future development wise. If only it came standard locked bootloader.......... Encrypted is just mean!!!!!!!!!

But it will be broken. Mark my word!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But wouldn't dual core still help, especially with multitasking?

As long as the kernel is multi-core aware, and as I understand it even the Froyo kernel is, then couldn't say 2 CPU hungry apps each be given their own core? Or the os could use one core and apps the other.

Seems you would have at least some benefit immediately.

I have the Tegra Zone app on my phone already. I am prepared for dual core!!

I have a question?Since Tegra2 did not work with LTE and they are replacing the Chip with TI OMAP Dual Core chip. Will the Games in Tegra Zone still work?

I'm sure they will still work. On Nvidia's pc graphics cards, they sometimes add easter egg type effects that you will only see if you have one of their Geforce cards. Other brand cards do just fine with the games but just without the special stuff. Could be the same kind of thing.
