Car Talk

Gotta love the sound and power, but sometimes the economy of it overrules.
I'm certainly not an environmentalist, but mpg in the 40's or higher is sweeter than the rumble of my American made V8.
That depends on where you are financially..or what you think is the better choice..... The buzz of an economic motor is a great thing to hear..

But the throaty high rpm roar of an engine with tight air fuel ratios, screaming in chaotic harmony.. Be it regular gas, or the hair raising alcohol setups..... It always brings a smile to a person's face.. Every time I think of the sound.. I can smell the smell....

That's exactly why I go to the winter and spring nationals in Pamona… the sound and smell, not to mention the nitro… ;)

I'm not concerned about MPG, never have. I have a truck that gets 14/16 in the city and 21 on the highway. Mustang can get as low as 12mpg when I'm driving aggressively or near 30 if I'm not touching the go pedal, and the trans am is around 10mpg. Gotta lot a 4BBL when it kicks in. :)

If I wanted economy I'd be driving a Nissan Leaf.

When fuel for my 7.3 F350 hit over $5 a gallon I started getting serious for my Daily Driver, it's still nice to see the black smoke pour from the back of the old Diesel from time to time, but the high mpg isn't bad at all now.

Gasoline was almost $4 a gallon and my cars only take premium. Just had to budget better and cut out other unneeded expenditures.

Budgeting, now that's important, so are other toys, I like both. Not trying to talk you out of a nice V8, especially with really cheap fuel/gas now, and like I mentioned above, I'm no tree hugger, unless it would look better on my stock... ;)

Now if you really want expensive, have a wife and girlfriend's, that's the ultimate money bomb... Luckily I'm smarter than that, my buddy thought he could do it... Wrong... It's a good way to go if you want to give away all your cool stuff and live with friends...
