Downgrade to 902 - No app or data loss

We are sargent samuri fighting bricks an security locked leaks one at a time :D

Well I'm fighting with W8 today. I got my laptop to upgrade the W8 RP to W8 RTM (don't ask...it's not supported but when has that ever stopped me? LOL) but my bedroom HTPC failed to upgrade W7. :( So I'm prepping for a reinstall. Which will suck since it's an EFI machine.

Sorry dude not that rich i had to piece mine together xD

Oh this was pieced together. It was an upgrade to a 5 year old machine. I simply decided that I was going to buy the best I could get this round because I do a lot of video editing/encoding and needed something fast.

Ooops. Really want to reiterate something that the folks REALLY PAYING ATTENTION already know.
1. Value of clean start is essential if you want your iCS to be àmazing.
2. TiBU is, at the moment, with regard to ICS, unfortunately obsolete. Rom toolbox pro rules.

As you can see this is my first post and I am eagerly wanting to try to install the ICS on my Bionic. I used to have a junk POS Samsung Droid Charge that Verizon *finally* let me warranty/trade for a new Bionic. It runs so much smoother. Since this is a sticky in the forum, it seems this is the way to go with the upgrade but I wanted to double check since you said
This is not a script for "n00bs" to bypass learning the process.
I have never rooted or upgraded my phone before (who would even try with the Charge?) so I don't know if this is quite over my head until I get in the thick of things. I have been researching the last few days and it looks like the best build for me right now is 232. At least if I mess up I can go back to the stock version still. If this isn't the right way to go about it since I am a newbie, can you please point me in the right direction?

Thank you,
Heather
