Downgrade to 902 - No app or data loss

232 is the right build if you want a "safe" taste of ICS. Worse case you can FXZ back to 905 with a minty factory fresh feeling. I implore you to read and understand the OP FULLY before embarking on this ride. Since you're on 905 stock, you could skip step 2 and 3 in the INSTALL 232 option. Use option 1 to push the update to your phone. Option 4 will walk you through flashing it in recovery. Option 5 will optionally root it for you if you desire.

(NOTE TO ALL....the *ONLY* time you will see me tell someone to skip step 2 and 3 is *IF THEY ARE STOCK 905*)

As you can see this is my first post and I am eagerly wanting to try to install the ICS on my Bionic. I used to have a junk POS Samsung Droid Charge that Verizon *finally* let me warranty/trade for a new Bionic. It runs so much smoother. Since this is a sticky in the forum, it seems this is the way to go with the upgrade but I wanted to double check since you said I have never rooted or upgraded my phone before (who would even try with the Charge?) so I don't know if this is quite over my head until I get in the thick of things. I have been researching the last few days and it looks like the best build for me right now is 232. At least if I mess up I can go back to the stock version still. If this isn't the right way to go about it since I am a newbie, can you please point me in the right direction?

Thank you,
Heather

LOL... Soooooo bored til the ota drops. C'mon 241 (funny...i think my prediction was 238 when we first saw 232...didn't expect the security model change AT ALL though)

A big shout out to deduct and eye_dea for painstakingly hanging in there for what, I think 23 hours?, to help this n00b get ics. And to altspeed for offering to help and chatting as well. It is nice to have a forum you can just jump in and get the help you need. Very much appreciated.

And to the n00bs, don't be afraid to ask for help. Thinking I had some sort of clue, I definitely needed it.

And you were stupid enough to believe them? I'm sorry, but, come on. 2 seconds of THINKING about it would tell you they're either a moron or lying.

I was the bionic user that tried it, and I NEVER said it worked, I said it gave me an unlocked message. There's a thread get it out of HoB please.

quoted from the holy crap thread (my own OP/post):

LOL....looks like plain old fastboot to me, no lock state message. sam and i talked, I call utter BS like I suspected until someone proves it, rather see it debunked quickly and authoritatively....you guys know me, I was more than willing to brick my sh*t to check, like always.
