Downgrade to 902 - No app or data loss

They're already on 235 so they're already screwed. Might as well get em in the same boat as the rest of us. If they don't like it, they can downgrade to 235 easy enough.

Lmao i meant being gone all day who am i suppose to talk to the wall? xD Me "hi wall how are u"
Wall " doing good what's up with u?
Me "oh nothing just my friend Samurihl ditched me today"
Wall "ooo ouch sorry about that"

P.S. When you're done and have 235 working, let me know. We'll discuss upgrading you to 238 at that point. Although I will be gone for most of today starting in about 2 hours.

Will do. Thanks for the help. I was told to expect a ass chewing (rightfully so).

You are a magician. I cant say thanks enough. +1 to you.

235 is installing as i type. I can take it from here. What are the advantages to 238. I use liquid ICS and like most of its features so the stock is just for safestrap use and such.

stupid mistakes even get the folks that know occasionally

FXZed 905, ran update in stock recovery, forgot to voodoo so I started razrs edge, it said : error, more than one device/emulator...scratched my head, cursed, threw a few things......took a deep breath, realized it was my bluestacks install that razrs edge was seeing as an emulator since that's what it is. Uninstalled bluestacks, everything was golden.

What you used was something I developed for those of us who are a little riskier with our phone. It's a mini-fxz that's designed to recover ahem...."less than smart" actions on our part. :) Now you know what happens when you try to FXZ 235+ to 905. DON'T do it again. Now use the House of Bionic to upgrade to 238 if you'd like. If you don't like it, you can use the REINSTALL 235 option and downgrade from 238 to 235. Welcome to the House. ;)

LOL. At least you figured it out.

Glad you got it worked out!

Sam,

Couple of noob questions for you.

1. I am on 238. I have the 235 and 238 zip files on my phone. Is there any reason to keep any files that were copied prior to 238?

2. Locked bootloader. I don't see the difference but I saw something that maybe helped me understand it better. With a locked bootloader, I can only install the system files the phone manufacturer says are appropriate. With an unlocked bootloader, its like having administrative rights and I can slick the phone and put any operating system that I want to. Kind of like a desktop computer. Is my thinking on the mark?

1) I recommend keeping at least the update for the version you're using on the sdcard-ext just in case you have to fix it with my REINSTALL options.
2) Kind of. A locked bootloader means that anything you install has to be signed. Clearly only moto is going to do that. Beyond that, even if it's signed it doesn't guarantee you can install it. Meaning....look at the 238 downgrade to 905 issue. 905 FXZ is signed, yet, as we know you will brick hard if you try to install it on a 235+ phone. The reason for that is security. With an unlocked bootloader, you can flash anything you want. More dangerous since you need to make sure you KNOW what you're flashing is good. But you could replace the recovery partition with something a little more friendly like TWRP so you can flash anything you want. We can't do that. Nor will we ever be able to.
