Downgrade to 902 - No app or data loss

I want to be able to go back to .905 if I have to. Also how will you go to the OTA when it's released?

Normally from what I have seen in the past, there will be a FXZ file released soon after the OTA.

Also, lets assume 244 will be OTA and I am on Leaked 244, theoretically I can just replace the leaked 244 files in the HoB directory, then have HoB build the image for it, and then just choose the reinstall 244, and then I am on 244 OTA, SamuriHL can correct me if I am wrong or missed something on this.

Is that the extended batt?

I am still having issues with the screen while charging, had it on .2233 and now .232, not sure of the cause but I am wondering if the .244 fixes this? What other upsides are there on .244?

Why are people still confused about the "difference" between "leak" and "OTA"? I really don't get it since it's been explained so often.

Q: What is a leak?
A: A leak is an update posted to Moto's servers and retrieved using "cheesecake".

Q: What is an OTA?
A: OTA stands for Over The Air. It refers to the method of installing the update and nothing more.

Q: How does "leak" differ from "OTA"?
A: Only the method used to download and install the update. The updates themselves *DO NOT DIFFER*. I see people referring to "differences between the leaked 905 and the 'OTA' 905"...That is nonsense. The MD5 hash was checked, and they are identical. The ONLY difference is how it was installed.

Q: So if 244 is "OTA", then what do I do if I'm on the "leak" 244?
A: Celebrate that you've had it for 2 weeks? Absolutely nothing. Congratulations. You're on the "OTA path".

I personally am not confused as to the difference, I was just wondering if your back on the OTA path if they go with the one you have installed.

SamuriHL, with 905, the leaked version never had data issues with my phone, but once I downgraded and went OTA I started getting data drops, they do make small minut changes between them. There are differences in them just so minut people don't notice it, and it is never posted in a change log.

That's a great theory except for the fact that the MD5 hash is IDENTICAL. So the "small change" idea just doesn't hold ANY water whatsoever.

Are you going by the MD5 of the official OTA file, or the MD5 of the FXZ? If the OTA file then it should be different, mine was for the 905 update.

The 905 Update that was pushed to my wife's phone for the OTA push when it went live, was different than the version that was on my phone, I installed the FXZ file method, using RSD, as my phone wouldn't accept the OTA file, they both had different MD5 checks.

The 905 update that was leaked was compared with the OTA update and the MD5 matched. I don't know what else to tell you. The FXZ has nothing to do with it. That came out many weeks after the OTA only after I went and asked someone for it.

That is why I don't deal with Software, only Hardware for the most part. Software was never my thing, but give me a circuit board that needs fixed, and I can do that. I could be wrong in this, SamuriHL you are the one who knows, and probably has good information sources, probably better ones than I do.
