Downgrade to 902 - No app or data loss

@bigred, you could open a command prompt to the 902 FXZ dir and try to run the following command manually and see what happens:

adb reboot bootloader

I think that he is having a driver issues also since when the script is trying to run it does not even recognize his phone. try install moto helper device manager. you can get it here. USB and PC Charging Drivers - Motorola Mobility, Inc. USA this will make sure your drivers are set up right.

Yea, he did that. I'd almost suggest uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it again. But I don't know. That's why I wanted to see if manually launching adb works or not.

adb reboot [bootloader|recovery] - reboots the device, optionally into the boo
tloader or recovery program
adb reboot-bootloader - reboots the device into the bootloader

No...either will do.

Yeah, I was just editing my post since I saw I was wrong. My mistake. Apologies. :-)
I'll go back to lurking and leave it to the pros. Lol

All advice is welcome here. No stone unturned cause I do NOT know what's wrong with this one. So I definitely appreciate all help.

Maybe it was something with the older batch he was running? Hopefully getting the latest version takes care of the issue.

Ok, if you both think so, then I will also recommend uninstalling all moto drivers. Unplug the phone from USB. Reinstall the moto driver manager. Plug the phone back into USB, ensure it's set to MTP, and try with the latest script.

Reboot pc after drivers installed

I doubt it. That part hasn't changed. :(

Doh! Well then, in that case, I'm going to agree that it sounds like a driver issue.

Question for bigred... Is this the only android device you have on that PC? Also, is this on a Win 7 PC? I remember hearing some people having problems with multiple android device drivers being installed on the same Windows 7 PC.

To eye_dea you listen. :) He speaks good wisdom. Yes, definitely reboot after the drivers are installed and BEFORE you plug the phone back in.

Thank you sir...seen these driver issues plenty of times with rsdlite and moto-fastboot methods. Usually a fresh install and reboot clears it up. Also, using back usb ports are a must.

Yes indeed. And I always recommend the original USB cable that comes with the phone. Some people swear it makes a difference. I always use my laptop, always the same USB port, and always the same cable and I never have flashing issues. (I use my laptop cause it has a battery...power goes out in the middle of flashing, sucky things can happen....) But yes, clean it up, reboot, and try again. Great advice.
