I read this post daily and am very thankful for all of the work done by SamuriHL, Sarentmajord and the rest who help people. I have been enjoying .232 since early July with no problems and have great battery life. I took Sam's initial advice to stay on .232 because of the security issues above that. Once the OTA arrives, I plan to use HOB to go to the latest version and get back on the update path. I'm tempted daily but do not have a real need to move up.
My wife and I have the following phones. D1 rooted GB18 at 1.2Gh, D2 stock GB, Bionic rooted 232 ICS at 1.2Gh, Razr M un-rootable ($^&#@) ICS. We also have a Google Nexus 7 stock JB.
I see very little difference with the JB on the Nexus and ICS on either the Bionic or the Razr M except presentation and that many of my apps have not upated for one or both. Examples include FoxFi won't work on the Razr M to the Nexus, and some remote camera apps do not adapt to higher res screens yet, etc.
Questions:
For Sam: Are you positive that HOB will put folks back on the path? Example if .247 becomes OTA.
For all using .247: Please detail improvements you found going beyond .232. I read misc claims of fixes but do not have any of the prescribed problems. Other than security, what specifically has improved from .232 to .247?
Answers would be much appreciated.

Rule number 1. I make no guarantees. However, I'm not worried about getting "back" on the OTA path. AFAIC I already am with 247. But that's a risk *I'm* willing to take with *my* phone. Everyone has to decide for themselves what they want to do. If you want me to sit here and tell you "yes 100% I can get you back on the OTA path with 247" then you're going to be disappointed as I won't make that guarantee and it's not one you should be asking for given that you've read everything. As for differences, I won't answer that, either. I said in the release notes for 247 that I don't care or worry about every little details that's been changed between builds. It works for me, I have zero complaints about it, and that's all I can really say. You have to decide if the risk of going to 247 is worth it to you or whether you need the security blanket of being able to roll back to 905 in order to take the "OTA". It's a one way trip....once you're above 235, there's no going back. Ever.

Sam, thank you for your response. My concern about "jumping the ditch" is more about the promised release of JB for the Bionic. You have always said there are no gauranties, but you also express confidence that once a leak becomes an OTA, people will be able to get back on the path. After experiencing the total lockdown of the Razr M, I can't help but feeling concern that on of these leaks will slam the door on root and other features we currently enjoy.
Even with HOB, moving up the leak chain takes time and has risks. On the other hand, If there are specific improvements between .232 and .247 that can be articulated, it may be worth the risk.
My Bionic is a business phone. As such I cannot afford it to be inoperable for any lengthy period. Hence my questions.

See, what you said there shows you me you either haven't read my faq or don't understand it. When you say "once a leak becomes an OTA, people will be able to get back on the path" that tells me you don't understand what it means. In my faq I explain the "difference" between and "OTA" and a "leak". You should read it. Your confusion will go away.
Been running Team EOS JB for a while (a long while) on my wingray. I have also been testing Team Rogue's CM 10 version of JB, which I now use as my daily driver.:biggrin:Not unless you have a Xoom. In which case, why the hell aren't you running Team EOS like everyone else?

CM 10 seems to be able to run JB quite a bit faster on my Xoom! I like it!:icon_ devil:

You can't is the simple answer. Those versions have security that disallow going back to 905 which is required to take the OTA. You may be able to use the HoB to move to a new build and possibly even the OTA build when it's released, but, that is not guaranteed."
In earlier post on this thread, many pages ago, you said that HOB would allow one to get back on the OTA path. Was that before the .235 leak? I prefer not to scan through all 311 pages to find that statement. It was about the same place where you explained that any leak could be the OTA but that would only be known once the OTA appeared and was compared. You also said the difference was in how the version arrives not the code (i.e. as a leak or an official release). I believe I have paraphrased the info correctly and that these were your comments, but they could have been made by someone else.
Once again, I have no interest in going back, I just want to keep an open path to the future.
