Downgrade to 902 - No app or data loss

Ok, probably a stupid question I know. But I am on step 3, and it is putting the stuff on my phone. Once that's done, do I need to follow the step 4 instructions where I boot phone holding down the buttons, and wipe cache partition and such, or is that only for manual installs? Right now it is just sitting at OK to program, and RSD is done.

Ok I just went for it, following instructions on part 4. The biggest thing that confused me is how it says "wipe cache partition". From what I've read this program keeps everything in tact, thats why I was confused to if these were instructions to do it with a full wipe, but I'm just gonna go with it because after step 3 there is no more that you can do, so step 4 must need to be done.

Aaaaand we have ICS. Now to see if I am 1.2ghz, and if my flash works. I mainly wanted to do this as a test to see if my phone will be alright with OTA ICS. I use a ton of flash for my band stuff and whatnot, and if my flash is broke in ICS, I may just block and stay on GB. Sounds stupid I know, but I need my phone for what I need it for. Might flash back to 905 tomorrow, or might play around with ICS for a while, we'll see. Hopefully going back to 905 is as easy as going to 232 was once I followed directions.

Downgrading while keeping data is not recommended, as mentioned in the op. You can use the script to do it, but just know it's a bad idea. If you want to get back to 905 I recommend backing up your data, doing the full fxz which will wipe your phone and put you back to factory fresh 905, and then re setting up your phone. You can always try the fxz keep data option, but I don't recommend it at all. Anyway, I'm glad you were able to figure out what needed to be done. Enjoy!

Not to be ungrateful Mr. Samuri, but is there a way to get your files without using the 4share site? I just have a serious allergy to having to create an account and signing into somewhere just to DL a file or two. I know I have to sign in here (not really if I dont mind not being able to use the first unread feature) but this is different due to the wealth of information available. I'm starting to get the crackflash withdrawl since the attack on DroidHive and their rombot hasn't recovered the ICS leak roms yet and I've been thinking of going with .235 but am a little hesitant due to the "forward only" limitations.

Thanks for all your great work!!

I'm uploading to another server right now. I'll have links up a bit later today if you still need them (hopefully before noon EST).

I'll edit this post and add them when they are up.

Thanks. Yeah I will have to do a full wipe. I noticed when I upgraded to .232, that all my apps that were on the SD card (media area) before, are now gone. But they are still listed on my phone under manage apps, but listed as like com.rovio.angrybirds etc. They can't be moved or opened, and are no longer in my asec folder where media area apps are normally stored. Yet they are still taking up space. Will probably just have to see if I can uninstall and reinstall them, or will have to do a full wipe.

I like the speed and smoothness of ICS, but it does seem to be a battery hog, and my adobe flash only works on about half of the stuff I need it on. I did get 1.2 ghz which is nice. My only other real gripe, is the fact that my widgets all stopped updating. I read this is a common fault with ICS. What good is a weather and clock widget that stop working shortly after reboots. Same with my battery widget, wifi widget, news reader widget, etc. It seems like for as many new improvements, it introduces that many more annoyances.

But, anyways enough of that, this thread is about your installer, and it worked great Samuri. Thanks again man for all your work.

Try re-booting a few times. See if that helps.

Not trying to be contrarian, but I ran 232 for some time, I've been running 235 since last week, and I haven't had any of the issues you mentioned.

No problems with any widgets. Most notably, Beautiful Widgets' super clock with time and weather updates just fine.

Flash did flake-out in the beginning, but there was an update posted soon after I went to 232, and that seems to have fixed everything. Although, admittedly, I haven't made a special effort to test a particularly wide variety of Flash implementations.

As for it being a battery "hog," eh. I definitely get better results on 235 than I did on 232, but even on 232 it wasn't THAT bad. Though I do always run the extended battery, and I acknowledge that power drain rate is a result of difficult-to-quantify usage patterns.

Anyway, I'm sorry your experience with ICS on your Bionic hasn't met your requirements, but once you get back to a clean 905, perhaps you'll consider giving it another shot.

In all honesty, I'm sure it would run better had I done a full wipe, but I just wanted to try it out ahead of time. I figured my stuff would just slide right into .232 no problem, but it didn't. No big deal. My battery is already running a little better today. I will probably update once OTA comes out, after what I've seen so far. Gonna play around with .232 a bit more before I make a full decision though.

Sam ... i have a coworker at work that has a bionic that i rooted for him and installed safestrap awhile back so he could run 905 eclipse ics on safe side...if i understand the process corectly i should be able to use your script to restore preinstall ( as well as the other elements in the script) and he should be ok to reboot into 905 and take the ota officially correct? I know we could also download it and put it on his sdcardext root manually as well i believe.. but wanted to make sure ok to reboot if he wants to do it ota..
