Downgrade to 902 - No app or data loss

Getting Ready

I spent a few days reading this thread from the beginning and didn't see any post matching my setup so I just want to verify.

Running 5.9.905.XT875 which I got to from OTA updates.
I'm rooted with SuperUser, Voodoo OTA and have SafeStrap installed.
Other than that I think I'm pretty much stock.

I want to stick with .232 at this point.

I'm downloading 2.1 and components 1.0 from the OP as we speak.

Since I'm not going from ICS to ICS or coming from any other leak, I'm not sure what path or options to take?

I know to uninstall safestrap, which I plan on doing.

Do I also need to unroot?

Now let's say things go bad or I just don't like ICS for whatever reason. I have a nandroid backup from safestrap and I have a full backup using TiBu. Could I use this script to FXZ back to 905 and stop at that point, then re-root and install safestrap, then recover to the point I have my GB backup? Then using TiBu restore all my apps, data etc?

Thanks

INSTALL 232 option on the main menu, DO NOT SKIP options on the second menu except for root if you don't wanna be rooted. IOW, if you "make assumptions" about what you "think" you need on the second page and get yourself into a situation where "it doesn't work" well, I'll laugh. :) I may still help, but, I'm going to mock you for it first. :D LOL! Seriously, though, please read the menus. You want the install 232 option.

If you need to FXZ back to 905, you can do that from the main menu, as well. I don't recommend people use the keep data option for that when going to 905 from ICS.

Also, since you're a safestrap user I'll repeat my warning on that. Should be obvious to SS users, but, it hasn't been so here's my spiel. You should switch over to the UNSAFE side and you should uninstall the SS app. You can reinstall it when you're done. Good luck and post any questions/issues you run into.

I only ever installed safestrap to make a nandroid. I never even installed roms or even used the safe side. Always been on the unsafe side.

Ok, all installed and Safestrap uninstalled. Rebooted just to make sure I didn't see the SS menu. I'm still rooted since you didn't mention anything about unrooting. Here I go.

Rooted is fine but you'll have to re-root once the update is done. It's an option on the menu so piece of cake. :)

Step 3 to begin flashing, get this error:

Please check input file. Either XML format is wrong or image files associated with it are missing.

I verified the file was pushed to my sdcard-ext.

I clicked Ok, the my firewall window opened asking for SDL to have permission to access the internet or something. I said yes to private and work domains.

Now I'm back at Options for 232 update.

I'm running Windows 7 64 bit if that matters. I have installed the 5.4.0_64bit Motorola drivers. When I plugged my phone in, I could see my sdcard and sdcard-ext. Also my phone says charging by USB, so I think that stuff is good.

Then the HoB isn't installed correctly.

Ahhh I think I know what I did, I have a temp folder on my desktop I installed it too. It must not like that path? Can I just stop the .bat file, move the HoB folder directly to my desktop and then go back to 232 options and start with #3?

Minor update to 2.2. Most people can ignore this update if they wish.

o) Added reinstall option for 232
o) Minor cleanup to move some stuff around

The reinstall option is nice for those on 232 and need to fix it. It's a bit more comprehensive than the regular install 232 option.

NOTE: I will be gone starting this afternoon for several days. If a new update comes out while I'm gone, I'd think twice about trying to install it til I get back. I MIGHT be able to post a PATCH that WILL NOT contain the update while I'm away but I'll only have my Bionic for internet while I'm gone so my options and bandwidth will be limited. Right now my netbook isn't cooperating so I don't know if I can fix it before I go. I doubt any updates will be released while I'm gone but you never know. Those on 235 are stuck there until I get a proper patch out for the HoB. Those on 232 or lower could get themselves on a new update if they wanted to, but, with extreme risk. :)

You can try. I'd personally uninstall it, and reinstall it to the proper location then run it again.

Is it ok to kill the adb.exe process? I exited the .bat script but things are still running.

Should I leave my phone in the AP fastboot screen or restart it?

Thanks

Yea, kill it. And the phone should be in MTP or Charge Only mode.

Ok, still getting the same error. I killed it, uninstalled, re-installed leaving it all default. So the path is C:\Users\user\Desktop\SamuriHL_HouseOfBionic. That is what was filled in and I don't see on the OP page any certain path mentioned.

Post what the SWDL.txt in the rsd directory says. Cause I'm telling you something ain't set up right. WAY too many people have run this without issue.
