Downgrade to 902 - No app or data loss

Nice. That's sort of an easier way to go I guess. :D You'll still have to do the manual steps after RSD is done though. Do not skip it. Go to step 4 and follow all the steps after RSD is done. Don't touch the phone until it tells you to.

Phone has booted. It is really slow though as far as navigating and responding. It doesn't seem to like ADW launcher. It loads really slow and force closed once. So for now I'm using the regular home screen. I rebooted one time and then on your script hit any key to continue. Now running option 5 to root and it has been sitting there for a few minutes saying Waiting for device ...

The phone doesn't seem to be doing anything.

Full steps please. I need to know everything you've done.

Followed your script. Did Option 4 and waited for it to boot fully before continuing. I then hit any key which took me back to the 232 menu. Before I tried to root I click around a little and checked for root since I saw a few state that they kept root. Everything is running pretty slow, so I did a reboot by holding down vol up/down and hitting the power button. It prompts me for which home screen to use on boot or when I hit the home button. I chose Homescreen which I believe is the default since ADW doesn't seem to work right.

USB is still connected all this time. Made sure it was still in debug mode and then hit option 5 to root. Script is sitting there saying Waiting for device ...

Phone isn't doing anything.

You'll need to reboot again. Did you wipe the cache before rebooting after applying the 232 update?

Yes, I followed all steps under option 4, last step being wipe cache and not factory reset :).

Does USB need to be set to MTP? It is still set as mass storage.

Yes it does. It tells you that. ;)

Nope, it just says before continuing ensure USB debugging is enabled and that you have the latest moto drivers installed and that your phone is connected via USB. Then press enter to root.

So should I just crtl C or X out of your script and run it again?

echo SamuriHL's House Of Bionic
echo.
echo ----------------------------------------------------------------------
echo o) Make sure the latest Moto driver is installed
echo o) Connect your phone to USB
echo o) Set the phone to Charge Only or media device (MTP) mode
echo o) Enable USB Debugging

Just saying. :)

Anyway, yes, you'll have to kill the script, kill adb, and try again.

Ah yes that is under Option 1. I was looking at the below which is under Option 5 for rooting. I will reboot the phone, kill adb and try again.

Press any key to continue . . .

Then from what Matt has said about this, you're screwed. Cause he claims when this happens to a phone the data is corrupt and needs a factory reset before it'll work properly. That has nothing to do with the script unfortunately.

Ahh man, saying I'm screwed is not nice :(. Well I suppose I'm not really screwed if I didn't want to root right?

Well this sucks, I need to root for TiBu etc.

In the sense of getting root AND keeping your data, yes. I don't know of any solution to this problem. Others have run into it even without the script. Sadly a factory reset didn't always fix it. But if ADB doesn't recognize your device, as is happening here, there's not a lot I can do to fix that. You can try downgrading back to 905 using the KEEP DATA option on the main menu and see if you can root that.

Ah but didn't you say never try and go back to 905 with ICS data? Wouldn't my phone have updated everything for ICS, so trying to go back would not be good correct?

I guess it might be time for a full factory wipe and such.

So, I should run your script using option 4, then after that basically go with option 1 all over like I just did?
