Downgrade to 902 - No app or data loss

That's what it should be... now when that screen is up just hit vol up & down at same time and the menu will show up. It'll also work to show you the exact update progress while it's updating.

Just went from 235 to 238 and rooted with no problems at all. Thank you very much!

I did get a VZ Navigator FC after 238 booted but i could care less about that.

Well at least one success story. :) I hope John got his fixed.

Forgot to explain the 4.1 patch in all the craziness from last night. Nothing huge.

O) ask if you want to flash in rsd. This allows you to set it up and if you need to, manually flash with rsd. Saying no will skip flashing but will clean things up for you
O) added components check to addupdate script.

Thank you Samuri for all the time you spent helping me and everyone else who gave advice.
Using the file Samuri sent me I was able to get to recovery, but then I had a a sideload error during the LTE flashing.
So, I started the whole process over and factory wiped twice before applying the update and then it worked! :icon_ banana:

That's great! I'm so glad to hear it worked out for you. Awesome!!

You ever have one of those days? Today is one of those days. So after last night's bricking experience I decided to revisit the safety of the HoB and the REINSTALL options. People told me I didn't need to be flashing as much as I had been doing well I disagree. :)

House of Bionic 4.2

Patch any 4.x install

NOTE: This is a VERY big change to the way things used to work. Sorry, but, it's the only way to make this safer for 235+ people.

-INSTALL options can be used by everyone going to the version they want to install. Obviously 235+ can't install 232 so don't try it or you will brick badly. But 235 to 238 can use the INSTALL 238 option.

-REINSTALL will change depending on if recovery.img exists or not. If it's there we use a script that flashes it. If it's not, we skip it.

o) Add recovery.img files for any installed updates you have (232, 235, 238)
o) Change how INSTALL and REINSTALL works. INSTALL is used to install from any version to the new version. REINSTALL is used only to reinstall/fix the current version
o) Added option to extract recovery.img at the end of the install. This will enable the full reinstall option for that update. MUST be rooted to use this option.

I updated all the update installers to include recovery.img files. The 4.2 patch will also add them so you don't need to redownload the update installers if you previously grabbed them.

Thanks for all of your hard work Samuri. I utilized your posts and links to move from 2233 to 232. It worked flawlessly.

I may eventually try 235 or 238, but the "no going back" issue kinda freaks me out. If I do try it, I feel confident that your posts will make the transition as smooth as possible.

Thanks again.

The no going back thing SHOULD freak you out. :) While I've made it so you can essentially go to any update you want (obviously if 235+ only going back to 235), it doesn't mean you SHOULD. :) Most people are safer sticking with 232. Those who jumped on 235 or higher at least have a tool that can recover from most issues if they need to. And it can move them to the next build, as well. I'm not really thrilled with what I just had to change for the INSTALL stuff but it should work fine.

LOL. Yea, he's awesome for writing that. CellZealot pointed me to it the day you found 235. It works really well and is a great safety tool for us to have.
