I believe that UD is the best rom…hands down.I’ve ran Petes, DroidMod, Chevy’s, Cyanogen (for 5 minutes) and stopped when I flashed UD. It is the most stable and pleasing rom that I have ran..And to top it off, the support was OUTSTANDING in his section of DroidForums!!! Any problem I had, 10 people would step up and be more than willing to get me back on track. I will continue to run UD and follow the crew where ever they go.

BD spends alot of time working on his ROMs and deals with many files..And as he said.."files can get mixed up from time to time"..Were all human. We make mistakes. People need to relax and not get all in a uproar. Everybody shares aspects of their rom. And for a war to break out because a thank you was missed in a ROM posting...obserd...People need to grow up and quit pointing fingers. If all the effort that went into flaming and pointing fingers went into a ROM..Think how amazing it would be.

amen.....well put my friend!!!

Thanks...It's depressing that I see people on here jumping ship from Ultimate Droid over this..I guess they werent true UD users.

In my personal opionion I am staying far away from Cyanogen due to Clockwork recovery. When BD went to that I had nothing but problems trying to flash and recover from a bad flash using CW and rom manager.. I was so happy and :icon_ banana:'s when he went back to SP and nandroid.

We all do things that we would like to take back. What disappoints me is that Blackdroid let this forum and his faithful followers down by not accepting what he did and making it right. He had almost 2 days to think things through. It was a good rom and the support was amazing. He would have been able to continue here and flourish if he had only stepped up to the plate.... but it's done now.

As far as this forum goes I am sure they didn't like having to do this, but I for one have restored faith in this place and look forward to coming here for a long time to come.

Who knows.... I also feel it's never too late to do the right thing and maybe Blackdroid can still step up and make things right and beg for forgiveness. If so, maybe he would even be able to come back.

The overwhelming minority wins here!!!! BlackDroid will be sorely missed. He did have the best hands on service, with the best stability, so whatever he was doing to the ROMs he put out they were hands down the most stable. I have tried them all and the UD ROMs were fast, reliable and had the best user friendly team. This is a huge injustice. BD was not let go because he ripped something off, that is just absurd, he was booted because of the egomaniac that claims he was not given the proper dues. What a joke!! Get over it!! I have, goodbye DroidForums......

im sure your net here but this forum has been grat for me. the people are kind, the mods and admins do their job. any problem ive had someones always there to help me so ill be here no matter what devs, are here and are not here. IMO i love this forum and will continue to love it.:heart::heart:

With a little bit of research you would have found that the problem was with Ultimate Droid and was easily fixable. Strange how people make such rash decisions and statements.

flashed cyanogen 5.0.6 looking great i suggest trying it.

How do you do it without Rom Manager (paid version)? I currently have sprecovery installed.

i have the paid version got it a while back when back droid said to grrr. but it worked out in the end lol.

OK, so I installed grrr then put it in my end and started laughing. I must be doing something wrong. I then went to the awesome hacking guide you have linked and no Cyanogen.

Wow, well that was really, really, ugly...I think it's safe to add my opinion now. I've been watching this whole thing from the sidelines.

I think both parties (including user bases) could have handled this much better but unfortunately it got so bad that this was the only option to rectify the situation. It sucks indeed as I've seen that the blackdroid section was very helpful to it's users but speaking with DF's future in mind I feel it's wasn't worth all the drama and applaud the mod's for making this difficult decision despite whatever outcome. Some may view it as not fair but in end I think it's better for the DF community as a whole. (I mean it got really ugly to the point some of our own devs were thinking of leaving).

One thing I do find hurtful (being a member of this site since the Droid's launch, out of the three forums I visited to scour for info DF was the one I enjoyed posting on and always came back to) are the comments that DF is going to see a large decrease in members. AFAIK DF has always had a large member base, I always viewed that much of the UD user base was already on DF before UD even existed, but I def don't deny all the new comers that joined because of UD.

Also to all those that say they have no reason to come back here anymore. All that was said was that DF was no longer the "official home" to DF it won't have a section anymore but from my understanding this forum can still be a place to find help, or are all UD related posts not allowed anymore? UD may not be hosted here anymore but I don't see why support and help with ROM would suddenly go away. DF was always about learning about the Droid and helping one another. Long before we had devs sections there still were threads asking help for a particular ROM and a lot of us would try hard to help. I don't see how this is any different? Again this is assuming that all UD posts are banned (which I doubt).

Anyway it was an interesting event, I never thought this would ever happen at DF, but I sure hope this is the end of it and hopefully we can prevent this happening in the future. I still think there should be a "duke it out" section haha where rants, and arguments can be handled without much moderation. I think it's healthy lol

here are some dancing bananas for my thoughts:

After all of this i decided to stop using both BD and CM. Flashed on Succulent Desire 4.0 by Woodyman, and it pretty snappy and responsive, even on 550mhz.. People should seriously check out different roms instead of staying with one dev

its also available on the free version.

Just glad to see all the drama squashed, well... dying down anyway.

ud definitely offered real time support but he kind of created a monster with it. 90% of the posts in the ud section were "whens the update?" or "runs smoothe but why isnt ______ my favorite color can u fix that?" i ran his rom for a short while and grew quite annoyed by the fluff the users posted in my search for info.

also, people forget how well android and df was doing before bd jumped over here and that the droidforums growth really had little to do with ud, rather a solid device with many good developers surrounding it. everyone has their favorite rom(mine is neither ud or cm) and its nice to have options so for that reason its too bad he's parting ways. On a brighter note i can now get info at df again without having to sift through a bunch highschool drama.(i see it dwindeling before my eyes)

Good job DF staff, i truly felt your pain thru this.

That said i now have only one question:

What does rooting, adb, busybox, chmod, and metamorph mean? ;)

Is anyone else having Kayne West and Taylor swift flashbacks? "Hey ...... I'm really happy for you and imma let you finish but ....... had one of the best roms of all time. Fills in the dots to your liking.

When you need your phone to work you need it to work. SP never let me down. With CW if may have been this, It may have been that. It's hear say. But I know what works for me and I'm sticking with it.

to everyone who keeps saying they are going to leave, actions speak louder than words, just leave. No one cares, no one is going to beg you to stay, we will all survive and keep enjoying this site after you leave. Don't tell us you're going, just go

Just installed Cynaogen and its dull and boring. Staring at a white wall brings me more excitement.

Check out one of the themed versions. example JRummy's green, blue, or cyan options with a bunch more tweaks and options. It is actually very similar to Blackdroids roms.... lol Cyanogenmod is the base and there are lots of additions that can be added which enhance the experience.

Egomaniac? The only egomaniac was the guy who couldn't admit his wrong. As for you leaving, bye.
