MD5 hashes can't be the same, no matter what. You build a rom from source five minutes after cyanogen/koush from the same source your going to have a different MD5 hash nothing else about it.

I thought maybe if I wrote something my niece could comprehend maybe I would have a small grain of hope that even the incompetents would be able to slightly grasp it. Goes with the saying that children are smarter than we give them credit for these days.

Let's step back to grade school everyone. Google's source and Cyanogens source for this example is a horse stencil that we are going to use to draw a horse on a piece of paper. (haven't lost you yet it hope!).

Alright Bobby takes the stencil and makes his horse, he's a lefty and a little sloppy using the lines (we like bobby anyways).

Alright Ricky takes the stencil and sits and looks at it on the paper. Teacher asks him "whats wrong ricky?", ricky doesn't give an immediate response so the teacher just figures to come back later.

Bobby leaves to go potty with teachers permission (he's such a happy young boy). Ricky being a little devious boy decides to go the bathroom too only to TAKE BOBBYS HORSE DRAWING AND COPY IT ON THE COPIER IN THE LOUNGE BY THE BATHROOM (devious indeed).

Ricky returns quiet quickly in a rush and returns to his table (sliding bobby's horse picture to his spot while the teachers helping other children).

Bobby returns happy and cheery as ever (don't we love that ) not thinking a thing about it UNTIL EVERYONE STARTS SHOWING THEIR HORSE DRAWING IN FRONT OF THE CLASS!

Bobby calls out Ricky on this upset because he didn't do anything wrong he shared the same stencil with Ricky he doesn't understand why he did that.

Ricky's response is he starts to cry (kids do that when in trouble) to take attention off the matter and get the teacher on his side (along with some of the other kids). He starts pointing fingers and blaming Bobby that he copied him. BUT WAIT!

Bobby's left handed and make sloppy lines so after the teacher looks closely at both childrens work and their writing styles she figures out the truth!

RICKY COPIED BOBBY'S HORSE DRAWING AND TRIED TO TAKE CREDIT AS HIS OWN!

Wow that was fun I hope you guys can follow it's pretty simple, I'm sure my niece can understand that one :icon_ banana:

Ok we follow. Now, in school whats the incentive for doing good work? A smiley face, a good grade. etc. Whats the incentive for making ROMS.......

There is nothing wrong with you pointing out a huge ethics problem. I think the problem comes in that you are taking it so personal that you are living in this thread taking swings at everyone like there is no tomorrow. Life is too short.

Why would it eat anyone up, when they could just get BD's rom? It sounds more like you're the fanboy, and it's eating you up that he's a thief(as YOUR quote states) and can't come up with his work.

You know after trying most of the high quality Rom's around I finally sort of settled on the UD Rom I liked it. Along with the other Rom's I had tried Cyanogen and felt it was plain but deep down I knew it was the best running rooted Rom out there plus I was lazy I wanted a Rom that would do everything with a push of a couple buttons,you know the easy way but I feel different now I want to use adb I want to do it myself. And you know what this Rom is incredible in that everything functions and that's the most important thing not flash..Good luck blackdroid.Cyanogen is the best

Since we on this thing of smoothness, maybe its more the kernel than the actual ROM? Cuz this is the first time I used bekits kernel and the LWP on CyanogenMOD and my phone ran real smooth. I never was a fan of LWP cuz it never worked good on my phone before.

I don't know how else to come up with a conscious decision based on peoples ability to view facts reading through this thread :blink:.

MD5 hashes can be the same on identical files with identical build dates yes that is true. For this purpose no two different files with different build times can share the same MD5 hash (won't happen, 1 in 1 trillion odds).
