MD5 hashes can't be the same, no matter what.

You build a rom from source five minutes after cyanogen/koush from the same source your going to have a different MD5 hash nothing else about it.

I agree if BD built his source after the MD5 would be different

I don't think the assertion is that he built from source using the same code, I think he just straight up copied it, and added in his own little trinkets.

I am not denying what you are saying. I am pointing that there is a huge ethics problem with BDs actions. You may disagree.

There is nothing wrong with you pointing out a huge ethics problem. I think the problem comes in that you are taking it so personal that you are living in this thread taking swings at everyone like there is no tomorrow. Life is too short.

The only part that I take personal is the dishonesty. That destroys trust.

Aside from that I am enjoying this thread. I am a student of human nature and I find this all entertaining and informative.

Alright I apologize on that it's just I feel like I'm trying to explain things in the simplest terms to the icy hot stuntaz and of course they still don't understand lol!

Yeah I can see that now.

I completely overlooked the MD5 situation because where I work we take careful step to ensure identical MD5 values through re-builds through our release process. (to prove the integrity of our builds) Been doing it for years now that I don't even pay attention to the original process anymore.

This is exactly the problem when you release a device like Droid running an open source OS catered to the pop culture crowd (thanks Verizon ads). Most people simply don't understand how the open source community works as evidenced by the "I don't care if he stole it LOL IT RUNZ FASTERS HARDER STRONGER!!" comments.

Get a damn clue, the real dev's work on these things for for absolutely no reward except for some geek cred. The inflated egos and epeen flexing all come with it, so get used to it. It's the same with every underground hacking scene.

I liked Blackdroids version of the Cyanogenmod, and I like Cyanogenmod. Actually I prefer one of the themed and modified versions of Cyanogenmod such as Jrummy's. Which is pretty much what Ultimate Rom is like. Compare Jrummy's remix with Ultimate Droid... you might be surprised to see how similar they are....

And yes, Blackdroids previous versions of Pete's Bugless Beast have also been pretty good. Sometimes I liked Pete's version of his rom, and sometimes I liked Blackdroids version of Pete's rom. It doesn't matter which one you like as long as you are happy. They are all pretty good.

I agree with Blackdroids followers that he let the group down. The reason Droidforums let him go is because of his statement which flew in the face of the facts. He tried to insult the intelligence of the admins and all the readers even though the facts were on the table. He had the chance to make it all good but he chose not to. I wish he had thought about it a little longer. It is sad because they had great support.
