thanks, it worked great. although my phone feels significantly slower now...

also why are some apps gone when i try to restore them and also not in the market? is this a 2.1/2.2 compatibility issue?

Short answer: yes.

Some apps are not marked as being 2.2-compatible in the market, so they don't show up. You can apply a market "fix" to make your droid report itself as a 2.1 device again to get those apps back. I believe the fix is on the wiki.
 
last night i decided to put some of my apps to the sdcard. it worked but when i looked in my widget list the widget went missing, so did the app drawer. I looked in the market and it said installed. are you guys see this issue? My phone wasnt plug in either. I said no big deal 'must need to reboot'. i rebooted and the phone stop working. I cant unlock it. I was tired so i went to sleep and woke up with the exact same issue. I did a battery pull which let me unlock the phone and i moved all the apps back to the phone. Its weird the phone is working fine now. any ideas?

Short version: Apps with widgets can't be installed to SD card.

apps with widgets + moved to SD card = fail. avoid it.
 
You must realize that although you may not have problems others may, not to mention with advancement we see bugs, and belive me I've seen bugs
