Gorgeous, mysterious, EVO-ish HTC device headed for Verizon

Ok, just wanted everybody to know that I want this phone so bad it hurts. This reminds me of the months preceding the launch of the iPhone 3G. We will look back one day and smile, because wether any of you guys wanna admit it or not, this whole waiting/arguing/debating the whens/ifs is fun. And once it is launched its all over, no more anticipation, and no more waiting. I personally have been waiting on this phone since the EVO was released so it will be well worth it to me.

to late i already called it check post #972 on page 98 i hope it exist but the recent events lead me to believe otherwise!! and what u mean u talked to him im calling BS on that to!! yea im sure miami spends his free time talking to 15 year olds u know the same thing i know! NOTHING!!

I am optimistic when you say to wait till tomorrow. But I was also optimistic when for several days in a row - it was tomorrow...and then a while back it was "within the hour". So - until either Miami decides to release what he has and quit waiting on the VZW folks - or the VZW folks quit jerking his chain...this "wait until tomorrow crap" will continue to just elevate peoples expectations and lead to disappointment.

And for the record I am not saying your or Miami are the source of the "crap" I firmly believe that this nonsense is due to VZW and their controlled "release" of this information.

And believe me - HTC/Verizon know this. They have (in my opinion) intentionally delayed the release of this information just to build hype. This is the type of stuff that Apple does. Hype built through forums like this is invaluable to the initial sales effort.

I just hope HTC/Verizon have enough stock on hand so they don't have another massive waiting list for this phone.

Trust me, you don't even know the half of it... A lot of things and I mean a lot, has been going on... But just know, he is not bluffing. Why would he tarnish his reputation just to lie to all of us? He wouldn't.

im not buying he has had pics of this device for over a week and has not posted anything yet even if he want to start a new thread he still would of posted the pics by now!! i does not make sense

I was very nearly sold on the Fascinate, but it just seems so fragile. I don't know, it's a "feel" thing. Maybe not completely logical, but the X seems more solid. I will admit that the Fascinate has the best looking screen I've seen on any of our Verizon Droids, but even in that there's something...it's almost too nice. Like the colors are saturated or something.

All in all it's a great device. Highly recommended. But I just like the X a little more.

Unless someone can convince me that this HTC is somehow better........

Why not? Apple loves to release stuff on Tuesday. New music and movies are released on Tuesday. Places like Best Buy get lots of traffic on a Tuesday due to the Tuesday release schedule in the media industry.

But hey, after all the free press HTC/Verizon have gotten through the jerking around they did to Miami over the last two weeks they could release it on a Thursday at 1:23 AM and people would still know about it and be in line to buy it...including me.

Verizon is known to have release dates on Thursdays, and occasionally Fridays. All the Droids by HTC and Motorola were released on Thursday/Friday, Fascinate was released on Thursday, iPad was released on Thursday and same goes for the slew of devices set for the 11th on a Thursday. Anything they are looking to really sell, launch at the end of the week, so more customers can walk in and purchase the devices on their pay days. Cause they care.

in my mind htc make the best devices and im positive im not alone in this thats y were all waiting in this thread or we all would have X's lol but the galays s is a good phone dont let the plastic fool u and its the perfect size

Now - that is the type of confidence I like to hear.

So...you have actually talked to Miami about this? Have you seen any pictures? Has he already talked to the Verizon folks or is he supposed to talk to them tomorrow?

If he has already talked to them...then I am more inclined to believe a tomorrow release date - but if he hasn't then I am more skeptical.
