Gorgeous, mysterious, EVO-ish HTC device headed for Verizon

none!!! get a galaxy s phone

I was very nearly sold on the Fascinate, but it just seems so fragile. I don't know, it's a "feel" thing. Maybe not completely logical, but the X seems more solid. I will admit that the Fascinate has the best looking screen I've seen on any of our Verizon Droids, but even in that there's something...it's almost too nice. Like the colors are saturated or something.

All in all it's a great device. Highly recommended. But I just like the X a little more.

Unless someone can convince me that this HTC is somehow better........

2nd gen Snapdragon processor makes the this upcoming phone faster than the DX and more power efficient, causing you to have longer battery times, it also comes with the new version of HTC Sense that has been optimized and tweaked to be as fast as possible, in addition to all of this, this phone also will have a SLCD screen which is better than the one of the DX along with having much more RAM than the DX causing the phone to lag much less and do multiple things faster than could be done on the DX.

So......what are you trying to say?

Okay, but what if you've never owned a smartphone before? Are these differences really that huge? Aren't we measuring marathon times in milliseconds?

Also I need the phone now. Yesterday. Last week. Not sure I can wait, but MIGHT if it's really REALLY worth it.

roomate just got the fascinate, i told him to go for it because if this phone really does come out he can always return it.. but i prefer 4.3 to 4.0 and i would still choose the fascinate over the X because of how nice it is..

on a side note, if the info comes out tomorrow and we see say BGR with an article released at the same time we know it was controlled for sure.. i mean its a leak why are we waiting for the verizon guys to give the go ahead? lol

could be way off base but tomorrow is looking the most promising since i heard "an hour" yesterday so hopefully by 12pm EST when i get up on the west coast i will be lookin at some new pics on the way to work.. CRASH.. lol

Why not? Apple loves to release stuff on Tuesday. New music and movies are released on Tuesday. Places like Best Buy get lots of traffic on a Tuesday due to the Tuesday release schedule in the media industry.

But hey, after all the free press HTC/Verizon have gotten through the jerking around they did to Miami over the last two weeks they could release it on a Thursday at 1:23 AM and people would still know about it and be in line to buy it...including me.

Verizon is known to have release dates on Thursdays, and occasionally Fridays. All the Droids by HTC and Motorola were released on Thursday/Friday, Fascinate was released on Thursday, iPad was released on Thursday and same goes for the slew of devices set for the 11th on a Thursday. Anything they are looking to really sell, launch at the end of the week, so more customers can walk in and purchase the devices on their pay days. Cause they care.

So why would the release date be on a TUESDAY? I think it is going to be on Black Friday! Thats my thought on the new release date.

No HDMI Jack will a deal breaker for me. I will stick with my DX until T2 comes... I was hoping This had a HDMI jack. I am still hoping that these pictures are of a earlier version and that they add a HDMI jack..

why would it be a deal breaker? I mean you could use DLNA if there is no hdmi jack.

If I do not have a DLNA T.V then why buy it. In my opinion it is a deal breaker for me. I have a lot of movies that I downloaded from my desktop that I can watch on my DX phone at anytime. Sometimes I plug in the HDMI and watch it on the Big Screen. This phone is not worth it to me with out the HDMI Mini jack. I like HTC and almost bought the Incredible 1. But I absolutely loved the DX so I bought it. It is not worth giving up my DX for this phone. So I am going to stick with my DX and wait for the Droid T2 and use my wife upgrade for that if it is what they say it going to be.

Monday morning...and....nothing.

Anyone surprised? Miami - we appreciate what you are trying to do...but these Verizon folks are just jerking us around. At this point I am thinking that when/if this phone is actually released...we may not see information until release day!!!

Miami - I realize you want to post everything once you have the full load of info - but for the benefit of the many that have been waiting each day and hour after each of your estimated delivery dates/times, would you mind giving us an update on where things stand with your Verizon contacts? Have they met with you? Are they still over promising and under delivering? If you haven't met with them yet - have they given you another time that they "think" they might be able to sit down with you?

Anything at this point would be very much appreciated.
