Helix Launcher now available on Android Market

I finally got around to installing HelixLauncher (I've been using Home++ for the last week or so) and I have to say I prefer Home++ in terms of aesthetics and function but Helix is marginally better in speed and stability.

Can we get these two projects to make babies or something?! :icon_ banana:

HelixLauncher - (for devices running 2.1) Very

Is the long press on the launcher creating those images of the other screens like on the 2.1 launcher only available for 2.1? If not and it does work when running Helix on stock 2.0.1 how would you get those small screen images up?

double tap on the screen, make sure double tap is enabled in settings.

I'm using Helixlauncher2 and the only problem I'm having is an issue with the application names getting jacked up when I bring the 3D launcher up.

Other then that, its working great and I totally love it.

I'm running the non-rooted 1.3 version and it's pretty nice. Some of the added things are:

  • Fixed Contacts shortcut to popup in right position -- even supports Contacts shortcut in QuickShortcut!
  • Fixed QuickShortcuts icon positions when landscape - No longer swap position
  • No more full screen Drawer -- Reimplemented drawer handle when drawer is open
  • Options to hide desktop icon labels
  • Ported the Dots from Launcher2 (available as an option to replace QuickShortcut in Configure)
  • Using separate pngs of handle for different orientation
  • Implemented auto delete widgets/icons on screen shrink (auto center them if expanding)

Does anyone else beautiful widgets disappear sometimes and the phone has to wait a a few seconds for it to come back up to be responsive again? This happens randomly and doesn't seem to be for any particular reason, just curious if anyone else is experiencing this.

Just guessing here, but I suspect what might be happening is that your o/s needs memory for some process/app and swaps out BW until sufficient memory is available for it to run again. I'm basing that guess on the fact that when I power cycle my phone it takes awhile before all the various processes I have running (including BW) to settle down and run normally.

yeah that makes sense, is there anyway to solve this?

Been running it for the past 2 days, and so far working like a charm. Really fast and responsive, and no force quits yet. Definitely like it better than Home++, simply and intuitive.

I loved Helix but I had 2 minor problems. 1) It wouldn't let me play HomerunBattle3d 2) all of my music on btunes had been deleted.

anyone else experience those problems?

Same thing happens to me too. It occurs 1-2x per day and I haven't figured out if there are certain programs that are running that causes that delay to happen.
