[HOW TO] Install the leaked Android 4.0.4 ICS build on the Droid 4 (XT894)

Forgive me as I'm fairly new to this game but I'm currently running Eclipse 1.3 (GB) and would like to try ICS. Would I be able to go back to Eclipse/GB if I'm not happy with the stock Verizon ICS?

Nope, you will only be able to run the stock "leaked" ICS. There are no alternative ROMs at this time for the leak and you can't go back to Gingerbread. Hashcode is working on CM9/ICS for the leak so AOKP would also follow soon after that...but as of now....nothing.

No, you can't go back to GB if you update to any of the Droid 4 ICS leaks. I don't think that you can run any of the roms that are designed to run on the GB Kernel either. I expect soon that a rom will be out that will run over the ICS kernel.

also, I would not have my phone number listed on a public forum! That area is to list your phone model.

guys how do we access the launcher settings and stuff like that? can we at all?

Just get a different launcher. U can use whatever launcher u had on your last rom. I recommend Apex or Holo though.

i just thought it would be counter productive to install the apex launcher over top of the stock ics launcher which is really very like apex... i dunno i guess ur right thanks

when installing a new launcher, it doesnt actually install over anything. they install side by side just like any other app.
to have one launcher instead of another, you just set one as the default.
I'm assuming you already know about the little checkbox for "make default" at the end of the app chooser dialog "which launcher would you like to use".

Does anyone know if flash player plays videos on any of the ics leaks? I've read mixed reviews about being able to play videos online through flash player. Some even suggested waiting until the official ics ota is released for Droid 4 b/c flash should work by then. I'm currently on the gb eclipse ROM and would like to put the leaked ics on my phone, but not if flash doesn't work.

no flash does not work. some people report it works on High Quality only. most players do not have this function so i guess they are going to youtube or something.
i have not had it work yet. if it is working, its extremely SLOW. but from what i can tell, its not going to even attempt to play the video. all the controls work, video even buffers. no playback. sux.

What "videos" are you trying to play? Do you have a specific website that you can point out. I just tried a few websites with flash videos and it worked fine. Maybe I am missing something here. Also adobe flash updated in the play store on June 8th. Anyway love to help if possible.

Tried your link.
Stock browser doesn't even show the screenshot.
Chrome redirects to youtube app
Dolphin redirects to youtube app
I disabled youtube app, video will not play in any browser.

So I guess it is lacking proper support.

It works fine for me. I can even play videos using my subsonic server and the web page (jw flash) flash player.
