Ics soak test has begun!!!!!!!!

You misunderstand the situation. If they go with 246, we won't get JB. There is not enough time to do another update between now and March PLUS the jB build. Just not gonna happen. If we get 247, then we have a shot at JB. But only a shot. If it's delayed at ALL past March, they have to cancel it. Remember both Moto and VZW are involved.

You know, THAT bull**** I don't believe for a minute. If it takes 3-5 months to go from code to a compiled build, well, I see some problems with that. 1) A MINOR update like JB should not take as long as a full release to get ready, I thought even Moto had said they were aiming for 3 months, MAXIMUM? And even so, we KNOW there is an engineering build out there, so they already HAVE their compiled build. Anyone who says anything different is just BSing us with a nonsense reason for not giving us JB. If we do not get JB, I am through with Motorola, I am through with Verizon, and I am through with anything that even LOOKS like it came from them. I'll buy another damned iPhone before I put up with this **** again.

They have a build? Really? You have a link to it? Cause, whenever I have someone check, it's not there. Meaning, it's not done. Meaning, no, they don't have a build. We're not talking about building an AOSP build here. You forget what's involved. They have to test with apps, they have to load it up with VZW bloatware and test with that crap, as well, wait for VZW to provide new versions of their bloatware, do a new build, wait for more feedback from vzw, etc, etc. So yes, 3-5 months is realistic. And if it ends up being on the 5 month part of that scale, we're screwed.

If the soak doesn't start this week, we're pushing even further on the clock for EOL for updates. At this point it's becoming a joke either way. The longer the soak is delayed, the more UNlikely it'll be that we get JB. We'll see.

I was kicking myself because I hadn't registered with the Motorola Network until last Thursday. I was surprised too that I got it this late. Makes me wonder why they sent it out so late. Who knows I guess.

Sam, I believe I read that you did not reply/respond to the Motorola Feedback Network's soak test invitation so as not to jeopardize any future testing or involvement on your part. I didn't reply/respond either for the same reason.

This leads me to a rhetorical question (and, perhaps a moot point (no pun intended)): Just how many others in the "leak community" did the same? There's no way to know for sure, but if too many didn't/couldn't reply/respond because they were already on .235+, that had to put a crimp in Motorola's soak test plans. This may be why sd4life above was able to sign up on Thursday and get an invitation. They may be short on testers...

Very unlikely. I know plenty of people still on 905 that are waiting for the soak to begin. This delay (if there is in fact a delay...we won't know til this weekend for sure), is NOT caused by lack of testers. If there's a delay, it'll be because they chose to push out 246 and have no urgency to get it out due to us not getting JB. At which point, I will be done with the Bionic.

I just now got an invitation to the soak test. Am rooted and on 232 leak so I can't go back to stock until I get home tonight.
