Ics soak test has begun!!!!!!!!

Very unlikely. I know plenty of people still on 905 that are waiting for the soak to begin. This delay (if there is in fact a delay...we won't know til this weekend for sure), is NOT caused by lack of testers. If there's a delay, it'll be because they chose to push out 246 and have no urgency to get it out due to us not getting JB. At which point, I will be done with the Bionic.

Already am. Just waiting on soak to return it, lol.

Good points. However, I find it odd that there seems to be another push of soak test invitations this morning. Can't be that many e-mails that got "lost" in the interweb and spam filters:biggrin:.

I think your summation that something's amiss is correct. Time will tell...

My gut feeling is that there is something going on. If the soak happens on Friday, great. If not....well, then I guess it's time to start researching new phones. House of Odin doesn't really do it for me though...

Exactly. We don't know. That's part of the problem, tbh. :) But, we'll wait to see what happens on Friday/Saturday. No soak = not good news.

Wait a minute. Even if the never go to JB they could still release 247, right? Its a step towards JB but it in no way requires it, right? If we all got to 247 and then all development stopped we would all still be on the most advanced, stable , well built build of ICS that currently exist, correct? Getting 247 doesn't obligate moto/verizon to guarantee we get JB

Sorry..late to the discussion...looking like someone tripped over the server connection after I went to bed last night.
WooHoo..so not only did they go ahead and put out .247 with the JB patch, then have they been stalling the soak, then they decided to put .246 back up (correct?) but now they are sending out more invites? All of this pushing us closer to EOL...with no real idea WTF is going on? Is someone bipolar over there?I know this is still old Moto legacy stuff...but so far, the new improved Moto isn't doing much to WOW! I like my phone and how well it is running .247 (JB leak..not as great but it is a port) but all of this is definitely making me itch to start looking for a new non Moto phone sooner than I expected to.
Guess I could flash Blur_Version77.111.10XT907.Verizon.en.US.zip on my phone and get laughed at by Sam for being dumb...that would at least be a positive for my day!

I think people are missing the point here. 247 offers NOTHING over 246 except for the JB patch. Other than that, the builds are identical (much to the chagrin of people who claim supposed differences between the 2). If they have no intention of doing a JB build for Bionic, then 247 is not necessary. So the point is, if we get 246, we know we're NEVER getting JB. If we get 247, there's a CHANCE we'll see it. But it's looking slimmer by the day if it's going to take 3-5 months to build it.

They have a build? Really? You have a link to it? Cause, whenever I have someone check, it's not there. Meaning, it's not done. Meaning, no, they don't have a build. We're not talking about building an AOSP build here. You forget what's involved. They have to test with apps, they have to load it up with VZW bloatware and test with that crap, as well, wait for VZW to provide new versions of their bloatware, do a new build, wait for more feedback from vzw, etc, etc. So yes, 3-5 months is realistic. And if it ends up being on the 5 month part of that scale, we're screwed.

Eh **** it, I thought we actually had a engineering build with a build number and everything. **** this ****, i'm done....................

We know what the build number will be, but, the engineering build hasn't shown up yet which means they haven't built it. I've been having someone check daily for it. So yea, we're not anywhere near as close as we had hoped at this point.

Well, guess what? The beloved RAZR should be coming up against its end of support time as well, so hopefully they'll throw plans out the window for that device to get ICS as well.

EDIT: I've got a theory here. We're probably going to see the RAZR get anything that owners of the RAZR want. I am willing to bet that even if the thing is in month 22 out of an 18 month support window they will STILL be actively updating it, and their beloved "Window" won't mean a thing to that device.
