More Froyo

Somethings not right with your battery life. I ran ADAMZ, BB1.0 and 1.1 and now Froyo 2.2 FRF57, with baseband C_01.43.01P, and over clock, 1.25 kernel with setcpu at "ondemand" 500-1100 mhz.

My battery life is great!

I surf, listen to radio, read from e-book and have stock quotes updated.

The battery lasts all day after charging each night while I sleep.

The worst battery life I have had was when I had Adamz and the phone kept trying to update itself.

I'm running SS 3.2 right now, thinking about giving froyo a test drive. You haven't updated your baseband to the newest one?? The 00R one? And your setcpu settings, did you touch any settings in the advanced section of it?

C_01.43.01P is newer than 00R. Not really intuitive, but it is. It got "released" the day after 00R did.

Isn't the 01P the original baseband? Cuz I tried the 03P awhile back and got worse reception, then a few weeks ago somebody released the old baseband, which was 01P. So there's a different 01P that's gotten released after the 00R baseband?

Yes - the "43" is what should tip you off

Wow I'm having real battery issues. Less then 4 hours and my battery was sucked dry! Just surfed a couple of sites and checked email.

Put my wife's battery in my Droid now and its down to 80 percent. Wifi is off and using limited apps.

But loving this Froyo anyways. Though this battery issue could be a deal breaker.

Battery life is horrendous (compared to what I'm used too) so I had to dump Froyo into the garbage disposal. Not worth it to me.

Not to mention its pretty plain after being on Dark Edge.

Got my taste of it and ill wait for some other builds to be released.

Wow, I am seeing the exact opposite. I am getting 6 hours of sleep/standby for every 10% battery drop and about 40 to 45 minutes of wifi web surfing per 10% battery drop.

Currently running the 7 slot 1Ghz kernel under 2.2 Beta 2 (as I call it).

Just installed the new baseband update this morning to see how that affects battery life.

After a couple of days testing, my battery life... well sucks. I've let it run down to the point of turning itself off, and I've installed the two newest baseband radios hoping that would do the trick. Alas battery life still... well sucks. I travel a lot so I need my battery efficient. I'll work it until tomorrow to try and find the battery drain, but if no joy, gotta go back to SD until I get back home. FROYO is blazing fast though!!!

Sadly I had to go back to BuglessBeast. I kept getting random reboots with both Froyo releases and it became very annoying.

Has anyone else experienced any of these random reboots?

Some ppl have, I havent. I tried the orig leak Sat, a ROM of the Sat one form somewhere Sun, and this one Mon. No reboots on any.

Maybe the reboots are a kernel issue.

Hopefully something else comes out soon. I really like how fast and smooth it runs, but the random reboots became a little annoying for me.

I was running the 1.25Ghz kernel which was actually only maxing out at 1.1Ghz.

Actually, now I'm curious - Do the different sections of the baseband version have some kind of meaning? C_01.43.01P - is that one version number that coincidentally has 01P again, or is it three pieces, each with a version: C_01, 43, and 01P?

ROM Manager - cannot run fix permissions

Little help here guys, I cannot run fix permissions in rom manager, I get error occured while trying to run privelaged commands.

I am getting this as well. I have searched and do not find as explanation or a fix. Any ideas?

Try a lower kernel, or knock the speed down some notches and see what happens.

my battery life is decent. It is about the same; maybe a lil better then before. But its a smart phone and I use the internet and pandora alot. So the way I handle this was that I bought another wall charger from moto for about 6 bucks. I keep that charger in my laptop bag at all times (since I keep my laptop with me). So any time I need to charge I can. THe wall charger charges the phone pretty quick.

Most likely its your kernel especially since its overclock past 1ghz. Because some kernel doesnt act the same on different phones. I know a few kernels that my phone doesnt like at higher speed and reboots instantly

I might give it one more try later today.

Does anyone know why the 1.25Ghz kernel only goes up t 1.1Ghz?

Should I expect the other kernels to be wrong too?

Definitely sounds like your phone can't handle that particular kernel at 1.1 ghz. Just download the 1ghz kernel and give it another try.

The phone can handle the speed, but there might be something with the kernel that isn't playing nice. I've had my phone overclocked stable at 1.2Ghz with Bugless Beast, so I know it's not the phone.
