More Froyo

Anyone else hear about Nexus One with 2.2 now being able to shoot 720p video, and does that mean this hack can be implemented on motorola droids, since they are both 5mp cameras??

Also is it true there's another hack for nexus one with 2.2 allowing 802.11n use?

Sry in advance if this is posted in wrong area but I thought it relevant since i'm very curious if either/both hacks can be brought to our droids now that we have/are getting 2.2!

As I said, it can't handle this particular kernel at 1.1 ghz. I can run at 1.3 ghz on 2.1, but on the of 1.2 ghz kernels for 2.2 caused random reboots.

Wow, I am seeing the exact opposite. I am getting 6 hours of sleep/standby for every 10% battery drop and about 40 to 45 minutes of wifi web surfing per 10% battery drop.

Currently running the 7 slot 1Ghz kernel under 2.2 Beta 2 (as I call it).

Just installed the new baseband update this morning to see how that affects battery life.
I had the same numbers in stand-by. Unfortunately most of my waking hours my phone is not in stand-by for long periods.

The problem is actual use.

Few calls/texts/tapatalk and it heated up and burned through my battery.

Only clocked it to 800

Temps were not real high 105 dees grees but I wont suffer through horrible battery life. No way no how : )

I will load up the next round of leaks and re-test but for now I'm not liking Froyo.

The one positive is that it does run EXTREMELY well (performance) but again I need and want some decent balance.

Froyo Bugs or What?

I installed Froyo and the blue theme.. Great so far... Now,

I'm not able to install the backed application from my sdcard using astro.

I can't find Droid Root Helper on the marked anymore (I ran the market update fix and still)

Does anybody knows a work around for this issue???

Thanks!

After a few days and tyring to keep up with the thread I finally loaded up 2.2. Everything went smooth going from root 2.1 to 2.2. I ran into none of the issues with google maps or market that some had. I installed Root Explorer, Aoutstarts and SetCPU which can be moved to the SD card. I went ahead and moved them to the SD Card. After that I noticed that my phone slowed down on me a lot and LauncherPro Beta no longer saw the programs as installed and hence no shortcuts for them in my App draw.

LauncherPro did the same this or me in respect that when I opened the draw there were not app's in there.
I think hat when you install a certain # of app's it effects the draw.

Can I ask how did you move setCPU to the card???

I cant seem to find that optiona nd where on the card did they get moved to?

Thanks

First timer, i first off want to say, this can be difficult to really understand if you had to learn by yourself, but in the end. all is well...

Also, amazing work on froyo.

I got really easy questions im thinking but might as well get my hair wet, already in the pool.

I was wondering about launchers. What are compatible with froyo. I am aiming for the pinch app to see all your home pages... and only one i know of is launcher pro. and it only has 3 pages... also a replacement for EoEAppLauncher... From market its free and its not working "Force Close" Every time...

i am use to that app to install .APKs

One last thing... A FULL INSTALL GUIDE OF THE LATEST UPDATES, trying to go through the forums crazy if you want to do things the easy way (:

Thankyou in advance...

While ur in Launcher Pro just hit menu than preferences and choose how many screens you want. I have 5 at the moment

Thankyou for responding, I'm very impressed with this forum.

Running froyo on launcher pro, FASTEST MY DROID HAS EVER BEEN

Thankyou P3

I'm in the same boat as you. Came from BB 1.1 to this and notice a dramatic decrease in battery life. I will play with Froyo a bit longer because it seems really snappy, but I will definitely switch to Pete release of his Froyo BB.

In Pete I trust.

Settings/Apps/Manage apps/ *click on SetCPU* / Click more to SD.

I had a problem with it not working when I moved it, so I had to move it back.

Typo edit.

You are on your phone all day I am going to assume. Different scenarios for different people. At work I am mainly on Pandora/Slacker all day so I must have my charger on me or it will not last. It was the same with my iphone. Its to the point I have to keep my backup charger on me because I stream sports, music from the time I clock in to the time I clock out. As far as froyo and battery life I am sure the testers for vzw are noting that and they may look to improve but, 2.1 was better on battery life but slow and not as good in performance. 2.2 seems to be better in performance but not as good in battery life. It seems as if we are going to have to pick our poison. I can deal with battery life because I can always get to an outlet (for the most part). But some people may not be able to do that so they need something that lasts all day.

It wouldn't work on the sd card or on the phone's internal memory?

Has anybody had a problem with running ADB on the Froyo? I tried and when I do a adb remount I get remount failed: Operation not permitted.
