Motorola Droid Maintenance Release Prelude to Android 2.1

The question is: Is it possible there were a couple people that got the 2.0.1 refresh update towards the end of january that got several people excited. If so, is it not also possible that a couple people also got an accidental 2.1 upgrade?

Let's see the proof from these people.....

I think it was suppose to go to a droid but was accedentaly sent to an eris last week because they did start the update then stoped it immeditly............... that's my hypothsis anyways

I hope you didn't bet too much, cause I would never say it was impossible. HTC seems to be a little ahead of Motorola in Android technology. Wouldn't be surprised if they got a good update over to Verizon to get sent out before Moto did. It's doubtful, but I would not be surprised anymore.

That is supposed to be performance update like improve battery and GPS, not the 2.1, heard that is next month for them.

One of my good buddies manages a verizon store and apparently all moto has said was late 1st qtr for the droid 2.1 update and as of today he hasn't heard that flash is being released at the same time...didn't say it wasn't possible but vzw or moto hasn't given him any more specifics

Well I have to say that even though I am amazed we are all still writing about 2.1, I am more amazed that I keep reading. Seriously. I think we will get the 2.1 OS when and if moto and verizon wants us to and not a minute before (unless you root of course).
