Exactly.... we have everything the update has in it and more with the droidmod (aka sholes) then we would get with the update.
I have no need for 2.1 honestly.

And that will add Live Wallpapers to the 2.0.1 Launcher. Even some from the Market are interactive, but not the default ones.
I actually am getting tempted to root my phone. I will wait for the update to see what it brings..but seeing as though rooting may give me more than the update..I am starting to NOT see a reason to have my phone un-rooted. Yes, I do care about the update..but this waiting has me past fustration. I really care a lot less, though I still wake up looking at my notification tab hoping to see something every morning.

What?!!! I didn't know Sprint had customer service!! I thought is was called "Customer Disservice." They are the absolute worst.

Wouldn't live wallpapers drain your battery faster? What is so good about them?
I absolutely agree! We started about 10 years ago with Nextel, who sold to Sprint. It was a nightmare! Switching to Verizon was the best thing we ever did!

You say Matt the "forums manager" wrote that it is fake.... This may or may not be, I don't know. However Matt the "forums manager" doesn't have a very good track record of creating faith in what he says. He posted that the update was coming, then retracted it. Now he is even creating doubt in what is really in the update.
Anyway, Matt the forums manager doesn't seem like he knows what he is talking about or what is going on. To me he is not someone that could say what is fake or not.
