Since the update I no longer get Gmail notifications. I have unread mail in my inbox, and I've confirmed in the Droid settings that my Gmail account is set to synch. In Gmail settings, I confirmed that notifications are enabled.

Update seems very snappy and fast all around. However, the browser took a major hit in performance. I used to love showing off how smooth it was, but now when scrolling around it's VERY clunky and jittery.

Same here.

Although I don't notice that problem we have to realize that most of our existing apps were made to be compatible with the prior version of Android... now that its updated, we may have to be patient and allow the Devs time to respond to the new architecture.

Worse case.. your phone is to make phone calls and link via bluetooth and even take pictures... Those issues are all much better... to keep the old version would be crazy since we know the camera will time out every 24.5 days "or whatever it is" and the focus will go crappy again.

The voice quality is soo much better now...Not only are there no echo's "ever", the overall quality on both ends is better.
I had mine set on EVRC-B and the update didn't change that... even a *228 1 and 2 didn't change it.

It appears they are attacking the highest priority problems first and it seems they aren't being slack about it either.... the speed and voice quality has superseded what I expected.

If you can live with a few glitches.. don't throw the baby out with the bath water and freak out about the new update. As the dust settles things are getting clearer and I see only a few complaints to levy against the tide of delight from most folks.

I really suspect that any "glitches" you may get from a manual update, you would have gotten from the "over the air" update too as its the same.

We all have tons of crazy apps installed that all have to play together and compete for the attention of the cpu. While there is plenty of memory to go around, there is only one cpu and some apps are hogs.

One person with the same phone loads a home app and it runs like silk while another person has glitches..... phone is the same.. the only difference is the apps, widgets and configurations.

We are making good progress.... and every time they do another improvement, it just tarnishes the I-phones glory all the more.

And don't be afraid to try another browser for peets sake.... if there were not better ones than the default one, they would not be popular.

Even the on board apps that come with the phone are just apps... there is nothing magical and special about them... don't feel like you have to use them if there are better.

Maybe try to untick your sync on your droid and then retick it.... same with your notifications.

Could be a pathway problem. I had to delete my gallery shortcut and make a new... same for one other app and then all was well.....

Did anyone notice an improvement in their Wifi? I now have 2 Wifi Bars in my room when it used to show only 1 out of 3. It was like this even on my T-Mobile G1. I also did a Speedtest which I perform reguarly for fun and I now receive 3500 to 4500 kbps in my results versus the 2500 kbps I used to receive before. My internet connection is capable of around 6300kbps just in case you need a reference.

Anyone's keyboard not lighting up?
It worked fine before the update :(

Edit: lol fixed it with a simple reboot.
