Hum

I get a funny feeling Verizon is up to something with this promotion and Droid X's They were awful quick to give my wife the rebate 8 months before she was due an upgrade. Companies dont usual do these sort of things seems too good to be true unless it is. Either way Im glad they did it. We all have Droid X's now

I have a Droid 1 and I'm not eligible for an upgrade until November, but I got it.

I'm not sure if this has been covered, but i can't go through 174 pages so I apologize in advance. I'm thinking about pre-ordering the Thunderbolt and was wondering if anyone has heard anything about how that may affect this plan. Can I have the thunderbolt with just 3g? Or do you have to get an LTE plan with an LTE phone. I know not much has been released yet, but I thought I'd see if anyone has heard anything.

As far as I know, no one knows 4G pricing yet. I know Sprint does not allow the 4G Evo with only a 3G plan, so I assume it will be the same with Verizon.

Nothing official on pricing has been released. FWIW, my VZW account manager believes 4G pricing will be the same as 3G pricing at least for now. This may or may not be correct, but since only about 1/3 of the population is currently in VZW's 4G footprint, I would imagine this is going to be the case as they are not going to want to prevent people from buying the TB if they live in an area with 3G service only.

It depends on when you signed a contract. My new every two doesn't come up until July, but I have been eligible for a discounted upgrade since November 7.

well, they probably have a new droid x coming next month or something, and the more people willing to take the now 8 month old X at the regular discounted price the better... I love the phone, and it will do until new every two in July, and I'll just sell this and my wife's droid

You guys think Verizon will offer the 450 monthly minutes, unlimited messaging, unlimited data for $69 later on in the year again? Also, where can I keep checking for these promotions?

Thanks

I'd say this Forum is a great place to keep checking for VZW special promotions. dancedroid

I wanted to give another update... after being told "oh yes, we can do something since you already had the promotion" and then buying a droid x, activating it, etc etc... I get a call today saying "I'm sorry, you didn't qualify and you'll have to pay the regular $9.99 for the line and $29.99 for data on that new line"...

Needless to say I was not happy and immediately told her I was going to have to given to someone higher up... she said alright and put me on hold for 5 minutes... in the meantime I was ready to tell them how I really felt and let them know I'd switch to AT&T (gulp) as soon as my contract was up... luckily she came back again and said that she did get this line switched over to the promotion but that any additional lines would be $40

I believe he is referring to the $10 additional line charge, and the $30 additional data charge.
