New Unlimited Plan from Big Red?

This almost makes me glad I didn't get around to signing up. I don't have time for headaches like this. What eats me alive on my phone bill is taxes. The State of IL is 20%+ tax for each bill. It's insane.

Well, when this thread started which was in November it wasn't a headache at all.

Sorry if you missed out.
 
I just want to say when u talk to a cs rep make sure u have them note everything that they chang on ur account so when u have a problem they can see it on the notes. now u don't have to be on the phone for hours.

An update on my end. I received the promo in December. All of the billing was fine. Now on my most current bill they switched the second lines discount. The second line received the $20 discount for the Talk and Text Plus Data promo for December and January. Now that discount is gone and substituted with a $9.99 Smart Phone Credit discount basically adding $10 to my bill.

My advice, is to monitor your bill and complain if there are mistakes.
 
Everything was noted in my account, that wasn't the issue. The issue was the cs reps claiming they have no power to do anything about the issues that were at hand. It basically is a game of who you get on the phone, because the last cs rep I spoke to put me on hold for 5 minutes to review my account notes. When she came back, she was very apologetic at the customer service I had been receiving and said she'd fix all the issues right away. She basically said the other people obviously didn't know what they were doing and wasn't sure why none of them couldn't get my account right. After talking to her for 10 minutes, 5 of which I was on hold for her to review the notes, I had everything fixed.

I just want to say when u talk to a cs rep make sure u have them note everything that they chang on ur account so when u have a problem they can see it on the notes. now u don't have to be on the phone for hours.

Added 2 lines and 2 devices to this plan today. I switched to it in Dec 2010 and I got the same rates quoted on/in the promotion.

I am having problems with my promo being wiped out during an automated batch check. I have had to call twice and get the promo added back on.

We updated one of the phones on our line two months ago. They substituted some $10 promo for a year on that line that replaced the family share plan, even though the sales person claimed he was making NO changes to the account. I spent 90 minutes on the phone trying to explain to the rep what had happened, but she didn't seem to understand about the family unlimited data plan.

Since then there have been two billing cycles of this credit here, that charge there, this billed a month in advance here, etc. etc. etc.

I can't help but think I'm being screwed because I can't make out the bill for the life of me. But the one thing I know is that it's definitely not the $140 for two lines plus $19.99 for the next one. I have to wait until all the credits shake out before I can really tell what this is going to cost me.

But my suggestion is -- do not change phones unless you have to.

I'm sticking with my Droid1 running Peter Alfonso's new Gingerbread build for a while, and when my wife is ready to upgrade from her enV3 I will just buy her a semi-decent Android phone off Ebay. Might do the same for my phone as well, and just keep things as they are until this year is over and my promo ends. Hopefully by that point Verizon will have permanent family plans for data. If not, it's probably off to Sprint for us.
 
Just a heads up to everyone having issues, you have to call the number on this promo to make any changes at all when you're on this plan. They screwed me up so many times when I called 611. The people in this promo department are trained way better and know how to handle different situations. I call then for everything now and they are always educated in the answer including"we haven't been given that information yet" which is so much better than"let me transfer you 20 times until we drop your call because we haven't been given that information yet"

In my case, my first call was to the marketing/promo folks. They fixed the initial issue and reapplied the promo, but then they had to transfer me to billing to resolve the billing issues. That's where the nightmare began of credits, month in advance payments, and other crazy stuff. The rep had to look through miles of records apparently, and didn't understand the offer and didn't know how to apply credits. She was gone for 15-20 minutes at a time. Don't know if she was talking with a supervisor or what, but as long as she was making progress, I didn't want to be transferred to anyone else to start over. She was nice, and kept apologizing for the delays. Like I said, it took about 90 minutes to straighten everything out.
 
I am trying to add a line of service, I don't want to lose the "TALK & TEXT PLUS DATA $20 DISC" promotion I have on my account.

At first, it said no changes, but at the last page,(at the checkout), it says: <current plan: "NATIONWIDE TALK & TEXT FAMILY SHARE PRI 1400 ANY $110 S4975 0110">, <New Plan: "Nationwide Talk & Text Family SharePlan 1400">

I feel like if I go through with this, I will somehow end up on the "short end of the stick", paying $60 more per month.


Does anyone know for sure what will happen with my plan, I only want to add a line.
 
If you read up on this thread, you will see that it is a pain to add lines to this plan. You have to call and talk to about 80 people to add it and keep the rate on the new line. Its a load of BS , but that is what you have to do to keep it. From what you said it sounds like you will lose all of your discounts if you try and do anything online.
 
Well the verbiage in the promotion stated that you may only add lines during the promotion period. After the promotion period new lines will not receive the discount. This was not referring to adding a phone to an existing line but adding a new line of service.

I called and spoke to a rep before I upgraded. I asked if I could keep my plan and was assured I could. I will keep an eye on my bill.
