What make you say that?

I upgraded a few times already and it didn't drop off. Going to do it once more soon and another in July; we'll see what happens.

Guys, there are members who have clalled in and confirmed that the plan will stay in effect when you upgrade.

Verizon is a good company, people with this theory of how they will take advantage of you are being paranoid.

Looks like if you upgrade phones at the contract price, you will lose this promotion. That sucks :(

They would have to be investigated again. That wasn't the rule
I don't know if it makes a difference if you use the 1400 minute family plan or the 450 minute single plan, but I had asked a rep at the Verizon store today and she said I would lose this discount if I bought a new phone.

Unfortunately, with this large of a company with different stores, different corporate offices, and different managers/reps, true consistency is not going to happen. I think we've all been "around the block" enough to know this. All you can count on is what your experience is. This whole promo (since page 1, post 1) has been a bit of a mess. Some of you who upgrade to the TB tomorrow will keep your promo, some won't. It's the nature of the beast.

And regarding upgrading mins.... Most of us were told that you can always increase mins and keep the promo, just not decrease. But ymmv...

Verizon was a good company 5 years ago. Paranoia means imagining things that may not be real. Maybe you just blindly pay your bill and only have one line. I was in the store just tonight with a worn charging port. He admitted it wasn't negligence but said the warranty wouldn't cover it cuz it was broke. That's not Paranoia. I laughed and embarrassed him and asked him if he realized how stupid it sounded. When you get stuff like that for 6yrs, then say they are a good company. Then I got home and called about it and the lady said i didn't pass verification and was rude. Had to holler again. Getting a used phone. Yeah. Real Good company. And there is a specific reason I stay. So don't ask

FYI, I just clicked through the VZW online ordering screens for the TBolt, and the $20 monthly discount doesn't show in my order summary. It was there previously, but I'm not sure that I want to chance it.

Just called because I noticed my "20% - FEATURE DISCOUNT" employer data discount wasn't being applied. She explained that with the "TALK & TEXT PLUS DATA $20 DISC" the data price gets knocked down to $10/mo. The "20% - FEATURE DISCOUNT" doesn't apply unless the data is $24/mo or greater. $10/mo < $24/mo, so obviously the 20% data discount doesn't apply.

Did anyone else manage to stack their employer data discount with the $20 data discount?

I was hoping it would work out to $30 - 20% -$20 = $4/mo for data.

I got a huge bill when I switched to this plan, seems like they just added unlimited internet to all the lines. I told them to start it in my next bill cycle that started on the 7th of this month. WTH!?

About 2 pages back I spoke about this. What they do is they refund your previous months bill, then charge you for last months bill at the new rate and the following months.

The refunded bill should make a credit. If not, take a look and make sure that when the charged you for data and text at the new rate for the previous month. If not, call customer service and get a credit.

Just noticed this on my bill too. They won't credit the difference after two separate attempts. Essentially I have a corporate data discount that was previously on the account. Instead of refunding the $24 for data for the previous month, they refunded my old voice plan and added the more expensive talk and text plan.

What should have happened was a refund of $24 for data for the previous month, a charge of $30 for data for the previous month, then then $20 discount for the previous month. Total should be $10 for data for that first month. Instead it's $24. :icon_evil:

If they did give you 20% off, it would be AFTER the $20 discount. So it would be $8. I don't believe I kept my 20% data discount with this plan, but I do have my 15% voice/text discount.

Cannot stack discounts. You can keep your employer discount on the voice portion, but you cannot receive the employer discount on the data on top of the promotion's $20 data discount.

To all those in this thread putting forth tons of effort just do what we finally gave up & did last night... switch to Sprint. We're saving SO much now w/a fraction of the effort I put into trying to get our VZW bill even remotely close. Looking back now I can't believe how much of my life was wasted on the phone w/VZW reps who were basically lying every time. Wish we had made the move sooner because I feel like a huge weight has been lifted & that even includes having to pay an early cancellation penalty. Just thought I would take the time to post here for others who might also be frustrated because so far it's been a positive move for us.

Sprint sucks in the area where I live. Doesn't penetrate walls very well. I priced Sprint for me and my fiancee and it wouldn't be much cheaper.

Hmm... if you don't have coverage you don't have coverage but I'm not sure about the not much cheaper comment. As an example my wife and I were paying $180/mo for what I would consider a basic family plan with data for two Droids. Just 3G mind you. Our rate plan on Sprint is $129 plus we get a LOT more airtime and then by adding $10/phone we get 4G. On top of all of that the salesman asked me if we shopped at HomeDepot ever and attached some sort of 25% off discount that reflects on our bill every month. We added a 3rd line for my mom ($20/mo), split it up three ways each month and will be into it about $50 per person as opposed to the about $80 per person we paid on VZW so the savings are substantial in our case. Not to mention we get 4G in our area, our equipment is MUCH better and the customer service has already been WAY better than what we experienced with VZW and our friends who have Sprint all have nothing but good things to say so for us anyway it was a great move. I would suggest it to just about anyone so long as you have coverage where you live and need it to work. Not for everyone though of course.
