New Unlimited Plan from Big Red?

Be VERY careful switching and GET IT IN WRITING. Here is what I mean. I got on this plan around January because of this thread. I have 4 phones on my bill. 2 Droids and 2 multimedia phones with no data plans. I was able to save about $20 a month AND add data to the other 2 lines for future phone upgrades. GREAT DEAL.

In mid February I decided to up minutes from 1400 to 2000... same everything plan, just more minutes and $10 more a month. I was told it was easy peazy no issues.

Then my bill DOUBLED! They promised a fix BEFORE my auto payment dropped. It did not happen. I spoke to many different people. No help. When someone finally figured it out and promised a fix, I got their name and direct dial number. Called back when the fix did not happen. I was told the person I was asking for was in another state and no way to transfer. I had to start all over. This new person gave me their name and direct extension for issues. Fix did not happen. I called back. I bet you already guessed... both contacts I had were in other states (calling same number) and I had to start all over. This time I made them email me the promised fix and dates. Still did not happen, but I had an email and they could not use the "other state fib" to weasel out. I sent the email. Promised a fix, but said they could not email me the confirmation. I got them to text me. The fix still did not happen. I called back with the text and the email. Forwarded both. The credit finally appeared in my bank account. I am nervous as *&%$ on what my next bill will be.... but I have another text with the promised fix.

Your bill doubled because the promotion was for 1400 mins. That was the highest amount (if not the only amount) of minutes for the promotion. When you changed your minutes, it took you off of that promotion. Once that happened, you were prob charged for just an upgrade to the regular 2000 mins plan they have. Doesn't sound like much (and not trying to make it sound like it's not a big change or charge to you), but it was. If you plan to make changes to this plan, make sure that you go back and read the promotional flyer that has all that this plan offered. Adding lines shouldn't be a problem, but you won't know unless you roll the dice. Sucks :(

You have no idea what you are talking about. Can you not read above how many times I was told I was right? VZW reps just fumbled at every turn. Can you not read above that they credited my bank account, it just took way to many follow ups.

when i did it in december it was a MINIMUM of 1400mins. having said that, they are so screwed up there it is amazing the company survives. not just this issue, BUT EVERY ISSUE. i think we all need to write our state's attorney's general. every time they overbill(which is all the time) it's racketeering. i have called them every month for 6 yrs now due to some kind of billing error. i have already written the attorney general from my state and new jersey(their corporate HQ) for an investigation. they record their calls right. someone needs to hear them.

Referring to the original flyer (posted on page 1 of this thread), There is no mention of this plan going beyond 1400 mins for Family Share. That is why your bill shot up. You can ask me if i can or cannot read as many times as you would like, but that does not change the fact that it still does not state you can (and to be fair, or cannot) upgrade your minutes with this promotion. VZW took that and ran with it. Because you got them to agree to a credit and you stayed on them about it is why you got the credit. Had you let it ride, they would have too. That's usually what cell phone companies do to you. VZW is no different. They were wrong, but not for the reasons you stated. If they were truly in the wrong, it shouldn't have taken any followups and one call, maybe 2 should have fixed the issue.
Most of us got lucky even getting them to give us the plan (not being on the email list, multiple calls, etc.), so the plan (while it shouldn't be like this) is shaky and should be treated as such. As you can read above and earlier posts, it's hard as hell to make some changes on this plan. And if it's not in the original documentation for the plan, then you should be prepared for a fight.

How to know more of the product is on offer...

Huh??

This promotion expired January 31st.

Upgrade and Lose?

I will be keeping an eye on my account. When I saw this post, I immediately checked my account online. Everything is still intact.

I just upgraded and before I did, I asked the rep could I keep my plan and he assured me I would.

Guess we'll see what happens.

Guys, there are members who have clalled in and confirmed that the plan will stay in effect when you upgrade.

Verizon is a good company, people with this theory of how they will take advantage of you are being paranoid.
