This plan is only for 1 year I believe, after that 1 year you will lose the discount.I currently have the DroidX and am perfectly happy with the 3g speeds. Do you think it is possible to just keep the X for the next 2-3 years? I know that it is a long product life for a cell, but I am afraid that VZ may strip the text/talk/data plan off my 2 lines if I upgrade. For me that promo offers significant savings of $40 a month, $480 a year. I would like to upgrade to the Moto Bionic when it is released, but if it means losing the promo = no way.
Like someone else was saying, it probably depends on your rep. My discount did not drop off when I upgraded yesterday and I did a serious happidanse all the way to the car.

That was one of the other deciding factors for going w/Sprint. I was waiting for the next great device to replace our original Droid 1's with & thought the Thunderbolt might be it. I was disappointed to see that if you compare it to the Evo 4G it was identical in every single aspect save for more internal memory. That coupled w/the fact that Sprint price matched Amazon.com's price of $119 per Evo & their $125 per # ported over and to us it was a no brainer. Again, not trying to hate on VZW which is evidenced by my not going into details about all of our negative experiences. I'm just trying to play devil's advocate since we weren't 100% sure if it was the right move beforehand either. Keep your options open and make sure you do what's best for you.
Sprint sucks in the area where I live. Doesn't penetrate walls very well. I priced Sprint for me and my fiancee and it wouldn't be much cheaper.

Hmm... if you don't have coverage you don't have coverage but I'm not sure about the not much cheaper comment. As an example my wife and I were paying $180/mo for what I would consider a basic family plan with data for two Droids. Just 3G mind you. Our rate plan on Sprint is $129 plus we get a LOT more airtime and then by adding $10/phone we get 4G. On top of all of that the salesman asked me if we shopped at HomeDepot ever and attached some sort of 25% off discount that reflects on our bill every month. We added a 3rd line for my mom ($20/mo), split it up three ways each month and will be into it about $50 per person as opposed to the about $80 per person we paid on VZW so the savings are substantial in our case. Not to mention we get 4G in our area, our equipment is MUCH better and the customer service has already been WAY better than what we experienced with VZW and our friends who have Sprint all have nothing but good things to say so for us anyway it was a great move. I would suggest it to just about anyone so long as you have coverage where you live and need it to work. Not for everyone though of course.
