Sprint sucks in the area where I live. Doesn't penetrate walls very well. I priced Sprint for me and my fiancee and it wouldn't be much cheaper.

Hmm... if you don't have coverage you don't have coverage but I'm not sure about the not much cheaper comment. As an example my wife and I were paying $180/mo for what I would consider a basic family plan with data for two Droids. Just 3G mind you. Our rate plan on Sprint is $129 plus we get a LOT more airtime and then by adding $10/phone we get 4G. On top of all of that the salesman asked me if we shopped at HomeDepot ever and attached some sort of 25% off discount that reflects on our bill every month. We added a 3rd line for my mom ($20/mo), split it up three ways each month and will be into it about $50 per person as opposed to the about $80 per person we paid on VZW so the savings are substantial in our case. Not to mention we get 4G in our area, our equipment is MUCH better and the customer service has already been WAY better than what we experienced with VZW and our friends who have Sprint all have nothing but good things to say so for us anyway it was a great move. I would suggest it to just about anyone so long as you have coverage where you live and need it to work. Not for everyone though of course.
You probably just got lucky with that 25% discount. I'm only paying 164 a month for 1400 minutes, unlimited text, and unlimited data on two Droids so 20 bucks isn't that much difference cause I'm guessing the taxes would be at least 10 bucks on that 129.99 plan.
Not lucky, there is no verification. We were 'coached' by our rep on how to get it so I'm sure if you ask for it it will also be so. Not sure which rate plan you are on but if you compare apples to apples our monthly plan would have been less even w/o the discount. With the discount it's about half so it's no small change. Plus, get them to price match Amazon.com on an Evo for only $119 and then you can sell your current device, probably for a profit even (factor this into a monthly discount as well). On top of that don't forget the $125 per number for porting over to Sprint credit because if you have two lines that's $250 in credit and spread over a year you save about $20 more per month. One of my favorite parts is they let me use a 'business name' and TID of 99-9999999 to waive activation fees plus only get a one year contract instead of two amongst other things. This is far and away my favorite wireless phone deal ever and that's why I'm posting here to share.
I'm not speaking to the morality of it all but it was the actual Sprint store manager that told us about all of this so it's not like we're trying to pull the wool over on Sprint's eyes since it was THEIR manager that told us.
