And yes you can still get the Unlimited Data. But this promotion will not be avaliable forever. Tiered pricing will come into effect sometime

The plan will be grandfathered in, kinda like how the Alltell plans are still active on some customers accounts

Ok so my question again is if I upgrade to 4G phones will I be able to keep this special price plan?

If you already have the plan on your acct and you upgrade to a 4G phone, the discount will stay on. If it should drop off, call the number and they can put it back on the acct.

The discount only applies to the account owner on a Verizon plan :(

That is not true at all. It is on both of my lines for the wife and I. I think you are confusing this discount plan with employee discounting which is what you linked to.

If you have this discount then you can upgrade to a 4G phone without issue for now while they are priced with the regular data plan. Should VZW change that then you might encounter issues.

So lets say I upgrade to 4G smart phones, then a month or two down the road verizon starts the tiered data plans will I lose this special price plan and the unlimited portion?

No one can say with a hundred percent certainty what will happen when tiered data hits. Even VZW employees probably won't know the specifics until that week. VZW likes us to be in the dark.

Actually you can. So long as you are in an unlimited plan when VZW turns to a tiered plan system you will stay in an unlimited plan. HOWEVER you will not be able to get any subsidized phones or make edits to your plan from then on out as that woudl constitute a plan change and thus change your plan into one with tiered data...

I can just see myself now with a ten year old DX2.

What's that you got there, sonny? A 20-core 3D skull implanted Droid with visor runnin' at 10G? Back in the old days, we only had TWO cores. I got this baby just as Verizon was rollin' out 4G! Those were the days. We had unlimited data, none of these 4TB a month caps!

Theoretically, yes. Hopefully this is the case! But if VZW has proven anything over the past several months, it's "We do what we want, when we want it, and how we want it." I don't put anything past them anymore.
